    I'm currently on the level

that looks like a ship has been fubar'd by the flood

, think it's near the end, and in all honesty, can't wait for this game to end.

God only knows what is going on with the storyline? Why is Arbiter only with me now and again? Why there are some spells where i was just walking along for a good while with no enemies in sight? Why is the combat so boring now?

Maybe it's me, but it just seems to be wave after wave of the same enemies, which you take out by exactly the same means, every single time. I guess that can be said of every fps really, but this just seems such a chore/monotonous.

I was probably expecting Halo 3 to change the world for me, so maybe i was expecting too much, but it seems so stale, the whole Halo world so lifeless and lacking any flair.

    Thank god i didn't buy that god-awful helmet !!!

I haven't really had much motivation to go back to the campaign, not like some of Halo's levels (Silent Cartographer, Assault on the Control Room anybody).

It's a shame we didn't get to be part of a battle like the diorama depicted.

are you saying you maintained high expectations of Halo 3 without even touching the previous games?

Why wouldn't he? The game had the ass hyped out of it.

exactly. and is there any better reason then to check out a cheap copy of Halo or Halo 2 in advance?

I totally loved the campaign bar the slight dip with Mission 8 but I have to agree with this. Being able to take part in a battle of this scale with all the human soldiers watching you tear through Covenant ranks would have been superb. Its a real shame that the fantastic scenario depicted in the diorama was just a piece of marketing candy. For me, this type of scene was exactly what the ending needed.

Maybe it's the excellent multiplayer that distracts us all from the campaign. Giving us no reason to play it as much as Halo: CE

Have you tried playing on Heroic as it's puts playing on Normal very much in the shade? Still, I do know what you mean, the game does disappoint and, perhaps more than any other title, is a victim of it's head-up-it's-own-arse hype. Looking at the game in hindsight, I ultimately feel Bunjie were too cowardly with the game, afraid of implementing anything new into the series through fear of antagonising/disappointing their hardcore fans and put all creativity aside in an effort to avoid the sort of fuss kicked up in Halo 2 by certain players disgusted that the Arbiter was a controllable character (crazy, as he was the best thing about Halo 2, but there we go). Some will argue if it ain't broke don't fix it but there's definately such a thing as playing it too safe, too safe and too stale.

I completed Halo all the way through on Normal, then straight away again on Heroic, then again on Legendary. I was that into it. The same with Halo 2.

Halo 3, i didn't bother with Normal, went straight in on Heroic, which is where i am now. While playing last night the level i am on, which i think is a

                    crashed spaceship

, brought back horrible memories of the Russian park level on Goldeneye (forget the name of it). Kept getting lost and stuck on the scenery. At one point i had to grenade my own feet to die, as i couldn't get out of this little gap i had got in to

(right where the Flamethrower is, that big mound of gloop)

                    .

The whole experience has left me deeply disturbed.

lol at having to kill yourself because you got stuck behind that little mound near the flamethrower, same thing happened to me.

I couldn't disagree with you more if i tried. So everything you just said but the opposite

Playing through campaign on Legendary is simply amazing some of the battles that i've fought have been really intense making me use all the weapons available and all my skill to proceed. I love the multiplayer side of things now, it's smooth, slick and more to the point fair. If you're getting beat, go check the replay and find out why. Bungie have done an amazingly technical job and matchmaking and multiplayer if far superior to any other 360 game out atm imo.

I've only played maybe two dozen multiplayer games at most and don't like it but, given my dislike of Halo 2's multiplayer and Halo 3 Beta, I was expecting as much and subsequently it wasn't much of a disappointment. I bought the game almost entirely for the single player campaign.

Just got Officer rank. The most painful online game I've ever played, tedious combat, pea-shooter weapons, no room for tactics of any description. Or fun. come to that.

How anyone can play the Campaign more than once is beyond me too.

I can play it more than once! however it was more the incentive to get all the achievements that made me play through it again.
