SEGA Rally (Revo) - Xbox 360, PS3, PC and now PSP

Got this today from shopto and I'm liking it after not being too keen on the demo. To me it still doesn't feel like a classy SEGA Rally game, but it's still a great arcade Rally game none the less.

Graphically it's a treat thanks to the surface deformation. You can put tire treads onto what ever surface you are driving on, and it helps you get better times if you stay on the race line. It really feels like you're driving on snow as you're putting tire treads onto it. This is a great example of a game where graphics do actually help gameplay. The game runs smooth, it's not 60 FPS but it doesn't feel as slow as 30.

It isn't easy though, you really have to fight for first place, I've managed to win every race so far but it was a push and it's getting harder.

The music is terrible, that's one of the reasons why it takes away the SEGA Rally feel, so I recommend using your custom soundtracks.

Had a few games online (Xbox Live) and it ran brilliantly with no lag, and one of the players was from Australia!

Gonna play a bit more in a bit so I'll post some more thoughts later, but it's definitely better than the demo for those who didn't like it.

can i make a request as well after the demo thread that there are no conversations here regarding the FPS as well, think that was done to death already and there's not a lot new to add to that really.

      pretty please.

How exactly does it differ from the demo MM ?

          Seconded (about fps).

Is the music similar to the demo? (cos I liked the demo music).
          What about car selection?
Is the online as good as you expected? I thought it had more potential than Time Trial (based on the demo).

Only had a quick go, and it's basically really good. The frame rate isn't 60fps but a solid 30fps - had a lot of cars on the screen, with no slowdown or tearing. The graphics appear more detailed/better textured than the demo, and the handling is great with the controller, but terrible with the official wheel.

The 3rd track you race is in the mountains, and the game really holds itself together well - graphics, handling and the course design really click - it just feels like Sega Rally. Ground cam/bumper cam give a really nice impression of speed.

Music is really bad, but you can turn the music volume down.

                  See you folks online later....

It doesn't differ too much, I guess it's just growing on me now I've been able to try out some more tracks and seen what the full game has to offer.

The music is the same, so if you like it then fair play to you.

Cars - From what I remember there is the usual, Evo, Subaru Impreza, Focus, Citroen Xsara, Peugeot 206 plus more, and a return of the old Sega Rally cars like Celica WRC 94, Delta WRC 92.

Online - It's 6 cars on one track racing just like arcade mode.

In a ranked game you have one race and then it goes back to the online main menu, I guess the reason behind this is so you don't play a friend to cheat for 1st place.

In player match you join a lobby and stay there, the host sets up the games, just for fun.

Don't suppose anyone has happened to play both the ps3 and 360 versions have they? Rumble aside, any noticeable differences?

Can you use the analogue sticks on the ps3? I know that goes against common thought but after years of using them, I just prefer them to triggers - especially the ps3 ones! I'll probably end up getting the 360 version anyway, as i don't think any of my ps3 buddies are getting it and i know quite a few people picking it up for 360.

I love this game now. It gets better! Some of the newer tracks are gorgeous to drive around. I take back what I said about this not feeling like a SEGA game because it is. I'm also finding it easier now I'm used to how it handles, but I'm sure that's about to change as I progress more.

Anyone playing the PS3 version? Has the draw-in that appears on the trackside bushes on the desert course on the demo been fixed? As I preferred the feel of it on the PS3 to the 360 demo, but these graphical glitches were pretty noticeable to me

just plugged this in and gone thru the first 3 races and have to say its great

looks a little more polished than the demo and to me the handling is just wonderful, the cars really have that arcadey chuck about feeling that I couldn't get from Dirt (but did get from Flatout)

i used to stick a fortune into the original arcade game up in the Point in Milton Keynes years ago and this really evokes the memory of that for me.

cant get any live matches going yet but so far loving the single player mode
