I've just played the demo and I just couldn't get into it. The car handling felt completely dull and lifeless (bear in mind I'm a big Forza fan but I really enjoyed PGR2, but didn't like 3 either).

And yet again, the best times come from cutting across the corners. I wiped off 4 seconds at one corner Useless.

Had a go on the bikes and I actually like the way they've done it so it's possible to bounce off walls a bit and not get too penalised just because you are on two wheels. But why on earth put a Honda NR750 in the game? It was useless when it was released and that was bloody eons ago. Tech has marched on so far since then.

Plus points: snow was pretty cool. I'm guessing the rain effects will also be very cool.

Thing is... PGR isn't about times - for the most part it's about the Kudos points - so you need to be sliding around them corners, not cutting them!

Just been allowed 5 minutes play with this (!) and gave Macau race and the checkpoint challenge a whirl. Loved it. But then I've loved every game in the series right back to MSR. Can't wait for my full copy to arrive, soon, hopefully.

Apart from the bikes it seems like more of the same tbh, which is ok since I liked the last one. I'm not expecting it to blow me away but it should be a decent game.

Yeah, that 1st event. I was in 1st place at one point.

The thing is, my driving was hardly impeccable. In fact I crashed straight into the back of someone and knocked one of the bikers flying on that run (which made me LOL), but I recieved no penalty. They don't seem to have tightened up the flaws in the Kudos system, which is a bit of a disappointment.

I was really excited about this, especially when waiting for it to finish downloading. But now I am rather dissapointed with it. The handling felt bland and the in-car camera didn't satisfy me when compared to pre-release screenshots...

I think i'll be leaving this one. - Oh, how I wish The orange box was out this friday.

EDIT: I just realised, if I don't get this game then I wont ever have the new geometry wars.

Just gotta mention the intro movie which is absolutely stunning emotive stuff. Really gets you fired up.

It rains during the One on One event Charles. Very nice it is too!

Edit: Love the way the Exige is RHD, and the Ferrari LHD. Wish someone would raise the seat in the Ferrari though, making me feel like a midget!

My initial impressions are a little mixed too, especially regarding the weather effects, but I've a feeling the game will prove a grower and, as you mention, as buying it is the only way of playing the new Geometry Wars I've already ordered it.

Had good go on it and like it, looks good, handles well, weather effects very neatly done. Can't wait for Friday even more now.
