Maybe it's a blessing to have forgotten about Sunshine because Galaxy blows it out of the water quite frankly.

I'm up to 113 Stars. Just finished 'Luigis Purple Coins' from the Toy Time Galaxy, which practically drove me to the point of insanity! Please tell me the last few purple stars are not as hard?
Don't look at me, I'm irrelevant.

I think that is considered to be the hardest one.

Well you've done the hardest one... have you done the melty magma tower one as well (lots of lava)? That's the next hardest... I found the rest fairly easy by comparison (though some are time consuming just to collect them up rather than being in danger of dying).
Lie with passion and be forever damned...

I have to admit the purple coin levels aren't anywhere near as fun as the main game. In fact apart from a few exceptions I found most of them to be a chore to get.

The reward is worth the pain though, hehe.

Late to the party (due to the US version not working with my WiiKey) and just popped in the Japanese version. So far so absolutely wonderful - so many audio and visual surprises. This has come at the right time for me after feeling a bit bored with gaming of late. Great stuff

Ive been replaying this again and I just noticed something for the first time!

Remember how putting the cursor on the planets during the file selection screen sets off a sound whic goes in tune with whatever note is playing in the background...well on one of the levels in Dreadnought you have to climb a slope and walk over the blue panels to turn the yellow. I realised that the sound made as you walk over them are totally in sync musicaly with that level?s soundtrack!

Yeah I got up to Purple Coin collect-a-thons then pretty much gave up, though I need to get back into it >_< I just wish they could have staggered them rather than plonk em all in at the end.

Poor show, I really must make the effort...

edit: Sorry, I didn't even know it was considered a spoiler

Well i'm a little late in playing this but I only recently picked up a Wii, so I couldn't help it.

I've just completed this - only up to the 61 stars ending i'm on about - and I loved almost every moment so far. Apart from the bosses being re-used in a similar fashion to previous encounters with them, everything else was brilliant. It is one of the only games in my short but colourfull life that made me excited to see what the next level/planet was next.

If I put nostalgia aside, then Mario Galaxy would be the be my favourite game in the franchise; overtaking Mario 64.

I was hesitant about buying a Wii for Galaxy; thinking it'd only be the same as 64 - in a bad way of re-using exactly the same puzzles/enviroment etc. - but I was pleasently suprised at the amount of fun it was and the joyfully nature it had.

I look forward to going back and retrieving all 120 stars, although I'll probably collect them over time, which isn't bad due to Galaxy's 'pick up and play' nature.

Let's just hope that the reward for getting all 120 stars is more worth it in Galaxy than it was in 64.

luvin this, but the music is starting to get on my nerves. most new ditties sound like a cross between oscar awards ceremony music and theme tune from bonanza.
