Yeah that's easily the hardest perceive in the game, it took me a long long time to get it.

Finished it today. In some ways it seemed a bit rushed. Seemed to have a smaller cast per case which made the twists a bit too obvious to guess and the middle two cases seemed a bit brief. The final case however was excellent and brought the story together nicely (still think the first game's last case is the best).

    Plot was good however,

What the hell happened to Maya, Pearl and Edgeworth?!?! Possibly going to show them in the next game but their absences left a rather big gaping hole

I lapped it up as it was more of the same (which is good enough for me) although there was some signs of better use of the DS this time. Hoping the next game will fill in some of the blanks and the middle cases will be more substantial .

Cheers for the hint DT, ended up finishing this up yesterday.

Much the same as the dedicated few in this thread - more of the same was exactly what the doctor ordered. Phoenix's role aside I felt the game was surprisingly mild on the fanservice, which I was a little surprised at. Must admit I wish it was a little longer, mainly as what with all the new characters it'd have been nice to get to know them all in more detail. Still, roll on the next game - sure there will be plenty of development for all involved there.

Well I'll give a proper opinion once I'm done (halfway through case 3 at the mo) but I do rather miss the psyche locks. The perceive system is an interesting substitute, but it does make the investigation sections a little lacking by comparison. Even with the fun science bits, need more of them!

I've just finished the first case and I'm not really feeling it. The trials in AA have always involved conjecture to finger the correct culprit but it always then backed it up with hard evidence, or pressing the culprit to breaking point. Case one,

Gavin confessed towards the end but why? There was nothing to place him at the scene aside from knowing that Smith was bald. That's never enough evidence for a murder conviction and as a defence attorney you'd think he'd know that. They didn't even discuss a motive (which sounds like it may be covered later but that's irrelevent to the first trial).

I just found that a little bit too hard to swallow.

You'll just have to wait for the final case...almost everything adds up. For me, the worst thing about this game (aside being essentially the same as the previous games and a bit too piloted) is that even after the end everything doesn't quite add up and there's a sense of unfullfillment and too many plot devices.

Actually, on the first case and how it ties in with everything, if you have completed the game (and only then because these have spoilers), check these out in order -

I've finished the game now and to be honest: disappointment/10.

All of the flaws from the Phoenix Wright games are here, yet for some reason they feel much more noticable this time. Whether it's because it was a new story so I wasn't blinded by my opinions on all the old characters I don't know, but for some reason all the stuff that I've never paid any mind to before kept kicking me in the face here.

My main, huge issue is what my job is. I think this game would work 100 times better if they just gave up and made me a prosecution lawyer, since that's what I spend the majority of the game doing. What really makes me sick is how I can build a massive case against someone, and then have a judge declare a verdict against me because the masses of evidence I've gathered is based on coincidence and conjecture, and then find my client guilty because

                  he was found unconscious nearby

or something, usually with no strong evidence against them, anyhow. WHAT?

Another thing is the structure, I think the 5-strikes and you're out system really needs updating, because it's just a waste of everyone's time. Who doesn't just save the game before presenting evidence you're not 100% sure of? It makes the system worthless. What I'd like to see is no way to lose a case, but at the end you're scored on your performance and given a rank, or something like that. That makes much more sense to me since it's as good as impossible to lose anyway.

I'm not sure whether I like the perceiving or not, really. It's potentially ace, but I think it really needs some work to make it a little clearer what to look for sometimes. Finding

                  Bushel's

was a right pain in the ass and was just boring, going through the same text billions of times, slo-o-o-o-owly.

The changes they made to the game, forensics, perceiving could all have been great but they're in such short supply that they don't even register as making a difference. It really feels like the same game I've played three times already.

There's more there should have been though. Why can't I present profiles anymore? And what would be really brilliant, is if the game allowed you to present previous testimony - something I've wanted to do since the first game.

On the plus side the story is still pretty good, and it wraps up really nicely.

Overall though I think I'm done with the series now, unless they make major changes for the next one.
