I haven't used the lobby system yet myself but I think I remember seeing that the races are classed as free "unranked" and win or lose you get awarded 1000 points.

By the way I've set up a time trial thread for owners of both versions to come and post their times.

Played online last night in ranked and got my arse handed to me every time, I think it must be that the other cars were tuned right up, in particular a Honda S2000 and an RX-7 left me for dead in my Skyline.

Right I have working gears with my GT Force.



I just wedged my sixaxis in their tight and left R1 and L1 as the default shifters, I can get to them fairly easily with my thumbs. Didn't need to reassign the controller and can navigate all the menus etc still as is.

After a quick couple of warm ups I went faster still on the Myogi downhill, 2:39:039 ranked 48th after uploading my replay to the top 100 ranking table.

you can just set up a free room, so you can switch tracks each time.
i havent seen what happens when there are more than two people in a room though. do the others get to watch or something?

I've got to get back to work as I'm on lunch otherwise I'd be up for some immediate racing. If you guys do end up racing this afternoon I'd love to see some comments.

Oh nice didn't know that one, the room I was in was fixed to one circuit, couldn't understand what all the button on the bottom did, it seemed that two of them enabled you to then select an opponent for something - one of which I assume was challenge to a race.

So, back to your point, which button do you select to get the free room? Also would you know what each of the buttons on the bottom of the screen do?

on the screen where you choose the course its the bottom option... called 'free course selection'
i havent actually made one myself, so not sure what happens yet. but when i've been racing friends and they set up the room we've gone through all the courses without quitting.

the first option along the bottom is to bring up the keyboard.
the third one is to change your car.
i guess the others are for choosing who to race and where?

Idiot! I thought the bottom one would be exit or garage, will teach me to look in future, thanks.

Right I'll give it a go later, I'll set up a room about 10pm and call it NTSC or some such.

Tweaked Google translation re the hidden music option;
