    Secret Agent Clank (PSP)

Got this brought back from America mid-July and only got round to starting it a few days ago so thought a first play thread was in order!

For those that don't know, this is a Ratchet solo adventure for PSP. The 'secret agent' part of the title refers to the fact that there are some mild stealth elements to the game, although MGS 4 this is not.

Basically, certain sections of the game require you to sneak about unnoticed and you can perform stealth kills (by sneaking up behind enemies and entering a series of button presses) or, later in the game, take on the form of enemies in order to avoid detection.
Stealth, however, is not all the game is about and there are a lot of typical Ratchet & Clank shooting levels as well as some platforming, puzzles, rhythm-action sections, vehicle sections and controlling the gadgetbots.

All in all the gameplay is varied enough to keep it interesting and no one type is relied on for too long. There are also the usual fantastic R&C weapons but I won't spoil some of the better ones.

There are sections where you control Ratchet (plays out like the arena sections of previous games where you have to defeat wave after wave of enemies) and also Captain Quark. The Quark bits are genuinely funny and a nice touch.

All in all, despite being a bit iffy at first, I've grown to really enjoy this and for PSP owners looking for something to play, this fills the void nicely. Would say though that it is a little on the short side - I'm on the last level, probably about 90% through the game, and have a 4 hour playtime. Don't let that put you off though, for R&C fans this is a must and is well worth looking into if you are a platformer fan or PSP owner.

I hated the Clank only sections of Tools of Destruction - how does this game compare to those?
