Officially the cutest game for the ds, it's so cute you may actually die from playing more than an hour at a time. Turned up a few days ago & i have been slowly living with kumatan, it's sort of a life sim where you watch her go about her buisness each day. You can interact with her & buy a ****load of stuff to tart up her surroundings. You get cash in the game by taking pics of her doing "things" & then sell them to the woman in the shop, quite why she wants a kumatan photo collection is not explained but as long as she keeps dishing out the cash then i don't care You get more for capturing her doing something different & the value goes down if you keep selling the same shots.

One thing about this game thats amazing is the animation, everything has been animated fantastically & thats the appeal of playing just to see what she is going to do next. Probably the best animation i have ever seen in a ds game.

All in all i like it a lot, nice to have a break & play an hour or so then do something else, its a bit like animal crossing where you can dip in & out.

I was tempted to buy it just for the cute graphics - even if the style is completely different from their two most recent game, it's easy to tell it's from Vanillaware, a lot of details give it out.
BTW, is it hard for non-Japanese speakers? I don't think there's a story, but interacting with the other zoo residents would surely take a hit from random answers.

There is sort of a story as she meets each of the new residents in turn but apart from that i havent discovered any major barriers yet. The first character i met (rabbit girl) after introducing helself to kumatan she told her that she was going to be the mentor & kumatan the student lol, rabbit girl has an odd personallity for sure.

Learnt more today discovered the kumatan show, you can buy items from the shop that she can use, when she uses the item properly you encourage her & give her a pat on the head, as she learns she will improve. If she uses the item wrong give her a flick to let her know she is wrong, as she progresses the level of each item she uses will increase.

Now in the menus theres an option for the kumatan show. You select from a list the available items you have bought for her & put them in your 5 slots, then for the show you select the highest level item. Now you leave it, if you come back the following day depending on how well she did you will have a rather large cash addition to your bank balance, these are people that paid to come to the animal park to see her show.

Still in love with this game it has the nicest graphics i have seen everything is just so well animated it's like a moe version of metal slug sprites. Love the sound too each character has full voice acting in parts & rest of the time they make the odd noise. Very endearing.

Went shopping & bought another roll of film for the camera & a bottle of milk for kumatan as she was running low, my god she goes hyper if you give her anything consumable, i had my camera ready to start snapping as she downed the milk in one go, hehe another 1200円 profit.

Well it is fun, so far i have gone back several times today to see what she is upto & ended up playing for quite a chunk of time.

One thing that i have discovered the save game you create can only be used on one & only one ds, my lite was running low so i put the game in my old fat ds & the game wouldnt let me select my save game till i put it back in my lite, you can delete your save & start again though if you wanted. I have a feeling this was to stop people sharing their saves.
