Music gets a massive thumbs up from me - some brilliant tracks in this. I loved DOS wasn't that hot on POR but this one goes back to the DOS style really enjoying this at the moment my favourite glyph so far is the lightning I'm using this to shock enemies left right and center. Graphics are generally really nicely drawn. Yes that crab boss was a bit of a pain not that he's that hard but the fight is so long you have to last..

I now have 100% on all the maps before the
Castle
apart from the Monastery.
I'm well into the
castle
and I must say *Wow* it is the most gorgeous Castlevania
castle
I've even seen (so-far anyway)
I keep dying though..its partly because I'm tired and partly due to the fact that isn't a cakewalk either.
Gotta say, this is without a doubt the pick of the bunch on the DS for me.
IMO i only thought the so called 'half ass' exploration type games was POR.
CoTM was fab, HoD was not..but you can see the effort that was put into it. AoS is an amazing game.
Dos was fantastic. POR was 'half-assed' and OoE is a fantastic return to form.
Don't want it to end...to me, that's when I know I'm playing something good.

Hard to say, especially as I haven't finished it and I honestly can't remember how long DoS was. It feels far meatier than PoR but a lot of the length comes from grinding while you look for certain item drops (in my opinion, 'grinding' is not a term that can ever be used positively). There's plenty to do in some of the later locations though and, because much of it is actually more challenging than the last few CV games, it feels more rewarding.
But in terms of plain ol' length? I don't know. Remember SotN effectively cheated in doubling its play area and that's not something that could really be repeated without feeling a bit cheap. So any comparison might not be fair.

It's just that I thought it was
the last area in the game
and I wasn't even sure myself if that area would be in the game until I got there myself.
As it turns out,
I seem to have found more places to go, which was pretty surprising.
This game has definitely grown on me massively since my first impressions (I really thought at that point that it was going to be rubbish). There's loads here and it just gets better and better as it goes on.
