I never actually commented on how I feel about this! So, I don't think I need to say much about the graphics, music and writing. Its top notch and I can't really critise it. The vehicle creator is great, although I wish it gave me for control over the camera. Now, the gameplay I feel unsure about. I've never been that much of a platformer fan but it was okay. I don't think there was enough challenges for me to form a proper opinion. I'm moving this from a buy to wait and see how it reviews.

One small thing that annoyed me is the that vehicles seem to suffer from "PGR3 syndrome". I was in a race and if I ever so lightly tapped another vehicle mine would do go off in a random angle.

Mixed impressions here too. Firstly I'd like to say how wonderful the soundtrack is and how refreshing it is to see colours in videogames again. Its full of character as well. Rare trying to be the Aardman of games again, but they fall short.

It has the two glaring faults that were obvious from the first footage - 1. Most people would rather run around and jump platforms than create zany vehicles and 2. The level design is all over the place. A confusing miss-match of ideas slapped in a big gaming arena. Feels very synthetic.

Its all very confusing and random at first, and the speed reading doesn't help.

Its a shame as there are things I do like, but this was always going to be another Kameo wasn't it.

I knew before hand what the game was going to be like, but thought the game looked fun regardless... and well, its not.

I came to this with zero intrest. I just dont like the Banjo games always found em a poor mans mario so didnt think I would be buying it. Tried the demo (was actually trying it to get rid of it so could play Mirrors edge then Rock band for afternoon) and adored it and its gone down to buy now. Im glad they have done something different and not done another generic platformer and it looks gorgeous. I was that impressed with it after 30mins I had to force myself and I said to myself no more wait till it comes out.

I'm on this at the moment making more mad stuff and its just a joy. I made a mini helicopter. Banjo sat on an engine with the fuel tank behind it and the propellor on top of the fuel tank behind Banjo, nothing else. It flies ace and you can proper circle round between things.

Glad I wasn't the only one who had trouble keeping up with the speech bubbles in places

I knew and hoped they would find a good balance between the two. After playing it again it is not only the focus on vehicles, but is the way in which they have decided to use them, ah well I will give it one more shot, if not I will pick it up on the cheap and enjoy the original Banjo!

Maybe the demo is a bad example for the rest of the game in terms of vehicle use?

I shall keep my reservations for if and when I do play it, right now I would rather play Kameo again. I honestly think whoever said Rare did not think they could do the job as a platformer are spot on. They were too scared, or out of ideas on the platforming side and have gone with something on a global scale that is safer and generate more interest with a gimmick!

I love it! The world Rare created here is just as full and inventive as the previous N64 versions, it's a beauty! The small touches are in (look around the garage) it's bright and cheery and I'm left with some really positive vibes about the final product. The music is great too. Everything you love about Banjo is all in there if you bother to look! My only concern is the mini game collect em'up that Banjo 2 became, is this going down that path or back to the smooth flowing path of the original?

Love the little bits of Rare humour, asking Bottles if he is in Killer Instinct 3, and references to previous BK Games.

Is anyone playing the full retail game, i can't find a first play thread of that at all. Figured there would be one at least. I reckon i might have been a little too harsh on the demo and whenever i see the warm fuzzy visuals it makes me happy inside.

What i'm really trying to say, what is the full retail game like and does it improve?

I'm thinking about importing the asian version since they region protected the PAL copy. Only 29 quid including postage from play-asia.

I'm the same! There is something about the look and feel of the demo that makes me want to see more of it.

While I am enjoying this, and I would say its quite similar to the previous games in terms of it being a collectethon, the on-foot bits and the comedy. But the driving parts still not doing it for me (mainly the controls), which could be due to poor vechiles you have for the first few levels.

I've not tried to make any of my own vechiles, which could mkae the game more interesting (and also could be why Rare make crappy vechiles so the user can experiment and try and make better ones?).

I think if you've enjoyed the previous games you'd still enjoy this

I'm loving this, picked it up yesterday and only now managed to get my hands on the controller. Its certainly an improvement over the demo.

Is it just me or does the music sound alot like Dragon Quest VIII? Especially the theme in Showdown Town. Its lovely.

Yeah, the music's great for sure, captures the feel of the game perfectly. As soon as Fable 2 is done with, I'm going to delete that from the ol' HD and switch it with this for supreme audio joy. I like being able to hear my xbox games!

Really enjoying this too. The first hour left me worried, but once the scene is set it's a lovely game. So vibrant and addictive...it's just a really nice place to explore.
