Started this properly yesterday and absolutely love it. The humour for me is spot on, it doesn't take itself too seriously and there are lots of references to other games. Had a lot of fun with the vehicle creation element, and created a whole variety of weird contraptions. What larks!

Love those 2D clouds on a giant mobile all moving around in the background. You can even see the huge pieces of sticky tape on one side of them showing how the string is attached. I've only just noticed these on the third trip to this area.
I reckon it'll be a while before I see everything this game has to offer visually.
Snowman Mountain!
Amazing what you can create:
Thing is with stuff like this, it's clever but probably pointless. I reckon the wackier the better is the way to go.Last edited by prinnysquad; 30-12-2008, 12:33.

Really amusing on one mission to find
an enormous litterbin that I had to put a few things in, including an empty tin of Guff Beans. Hovering over the bin to drop it in, I noticed that it was chocca full of copies of Grabbed by the Ghoulies on the xbox. A nice touch of self-referential humour there.

No such luck. And all three pieces were snugly in too.
I must have wasted an hour doing this so I feel mega cheated.
Not junk, items from old ultimate games. You have to get all three lying flat on the bottom of your buggy bed. I had to drive mine out the water and shuffle them round a few times. The Jetpac Rocket, the Alien8 Robot, and the metal plate, (not sure what that was off)

Some of the vehicles that people are making are amazing! People have discovered how to make moving limbs by using balloons that inflate and deflate, hinges and axles using towbars and have created vehicles much larger than should be possible by using towbas and folfing wings together to 'glue' a triple size vehicle into a rigid shape.
Here are some of the more amazing creations:
A space shuttle that detaches from the booster rockets:
A working robot:
A flying bog:
Croc with moving jaw:
An aircraft carrier with a plane that can land on it (all one vehicle!)
An amazing X-Wing:

I don't think so. There are loads of requests on the forums from kids asking for copies of the blueprints.
The aircraft carrier is particularly impressive once you know how the game works. It's been created as three separate vehicles, joined together by tow bars and held rigid with folding wings, so it's three times bigger than it should be. The plane is then a part of the middle vehicle that uses a detacher.
The guys at Rare have even commented on the forums that they are chuffed to bits with how far the community has got into the spirit of the game.
For me, I think Rare absolutely nailed the vehicle creation tool. It's so easy to use, but so flexible and deep at the same time.
