    If I hold down triangle and x while the game loads, it outputs 480p on my TV (a 32' V series Bravia), but I lose about an inch at the top of the screen where the picture is pushed up Anyone else had similar troubles?

      Hmm. Can't seem to get that to work. Exactly when and for how long do I need to press them? And what's the easiest way to tell success. Will the boxes around the weapons list top left look less jagged or what?

      Over at shmups, other people have reported the same problem with 480p shifting massively.

        Still havent got mine yet but just wondering if this is quite any easy game in comparison to alot of the newer stuff these days? Any one attackin a 1cc on this?

          Have you an info button on your remote? Usually pressing that will tell you screen ratio, resolution etc so it should say 480p somewhere.

          Cheers re the info about the screen shift. Glad it's not just me. Crap though

            Yeah, my old TV used to do that, but my new TV just tells you which input card is in use and the aspect. What's the timing for the buttons?

              Charles. After the "PlayStation 2" screen flashes up directly after booting the game from the browser hold the buttons. Generally with 480p-enabled titles you get an option and you have to choose 480p so you should know if you've been successsul.

              Personally I cannot see how a game of this ilk would benefit from progressive scan, but hey.

                      Low-res, scan lines displayed on my LCD (interlaced) looks fine in stills, but movement is horrible. Prog scan usually sorts this out.

                        Mine hasnt fecking arrived yet despite shipping from playasia on the 28th (of oct!) i should be worried i guess?? Never had anything go missing from pa before, should i wait a bit longer before spazzing out?

                            I also had mine on pre-order from months ago and only yesterday got a note from Royal Mail telling me I have to go to the sorting office to pay a customs charge. Never had to pay that for a small item before though.

                                I've put some more time into this recently.

                                So has anyone else played this using the Rynex-R ship instead?

                                It makes for a more interesting experience. Whole new weapon set and if you lose a life, you lose a weapon. You start with 2 and have to build up as well. Now it all becomes about how fast you can kill stuff - get as many x16 as you can. You are more vulnerable, but your weapons are more powerful.

                                I can't say it makes it much better overall - perhaps up a score notch - but I would have had a more enthusiasm for it if this has been the default setting. Perhaps it's an attempt to provide value for money. Backfired slightly if so though.

                                The credits are pure weirdness by the way. Well worth checking out.
