Picked this up the other day and am loving it so far. This is my first Star Ocean game and it's a real old skool JRPG.
The enjoyment I'm getting from playing the game reminds me a lot of Suikoden although it's not really like Suikoden in its gameplay - it's just that good feeling of playing a great rpg I think. The combat is real time and to my untrained eye thus far is a button masher with a special attacks on the shoulders - I'm hoping that the further I get into it the deeper the combat experience will be however if it doesn't I don't mind - I'm enjoying discovering the talent/skill system - cooking, making art, drawing, painting etc.
The graphics and sound/music are great & have been redone for PSP.
If you're a jrpg fan from the old skool you'll enjoy this - sure you can say this is more of the same but if it aint broke don't fix it I say!
Looking forward to another 100 odd hours of this game.
