    Akumajo Dracula Judgment

So I got this game last Thursday just before reading the so many negative reviews for it. Normally I say to hell with reviews since they are quite often done by tossers who play the game on one setting for 5 minutes. I'm looking at 1up.com here.

Sure, Akumajo Dracula is no Soul Calibur or Street Fighter 4 but that doesn't mean it deserves a 16 out of 100 score. Akumajo Dracula Judgment has a quite a unique style of play which WILL take time to get to grips with but once that's done it's plain sailing from there on. The only real problem I found is that characters can be unbalanced and the camera can sometimes turn a special move in to an easy chance to escape for the opponent by making you face the wrong bloody way. Still, these two points are only minor problems that don't render the game unplayable. You can still get a lot of fun out of it. I must make it clear though that the Wii remote controls are complete **** as they always are in a game like this, so make sure you use the classic controller, a Hori stick or as a last resort the Game Cube pad.

Graphically it's quite pretty as far as character models go. The areas are a bit bland mind you. There is a nice option though that allows you to turn off the anti-analyzing for that lovely sharp look. makes the game look so much nicer if you're running your Wii via Component.

Music is what you'd expect from a castlevania game. Wonderful scores throughout including some true classics. The Japanese voice acting is also of the usual high standard however the English voice acting (There's an option to choose) is of the usual piss poor laughable standard. So best to stick with the Japanese voices. You may not understand what they are saying but at least they won't make you cringe.

As for game options, there are many to choose from. There's the standard story mode, arcade mode, VS mode, castle mode in which you can collect many items to customize your characters and the Wi Fi mode. I played a guy who was in the US and to tell the truth it was unplayable for me. The lag was awful however the other guy didn't seem to have any trouble kicking my arse so maybe it was just on my end? Next played a guy in Korea. split second lag made things a bit strange but still playable. So finally I played a Japanese which was perfect.

Over all I do like Akumajo Dracula Judgment and recommend it to any fan of the series. For you real hard core fighter fans though I'd give it a miss.

I agree. This game is pretty decent.

Good visuals, good sound, good controls, amazing especials strikes. And I usually play with the Wiimote. Yeah, I think that it works really great because it is not a tradicional fighting game... Is something more like Power Stone.

I did not understand why the reviwes about this game are so bad. Well, maybe the reviewers are a group of Castlevania fanboys...
