3 on 3 NHL Arcade [PS3/360]

Anybody else tried this yet?

I gave the demo ago and enjoyed it so ended up buying the full game. I was thinking about how to describe it but watching the videos is probably the best way...





It's made by the same people who make EAs NHL games and this works just as well for me. A completely different atmosphere obviously but the controls are just as solid.

I've had fun on it so far and I can't wait to try the multi-player side of the game as I imagine it's going to be fun.

I was tracking this game..I've known about it for a while.

I saw it up in the UK store..download the demo and I think you can then purchase the full game for £6.99?

Am awaiting it in the US store as I topped up my balance with what was left on my entropay.

Wasn't that impressed with this unfortunately.
I've got NHL09 which is great and was expecting something similar but more arcadey.
I don't think it really works though. Having no real teams is rubbish, the sounds effects are terrible and the limited gameplay options means I won't be purchasing it.
If they can improve this for next year I might be tempted, as the quick jump into a game option is a good idea, just needs leagues and cups to make it more worthwhile.

Unfortunately I'm with you DD. I downloaded the demo (although it is a brief 2 minute affair)

I half liked it, I can see this would be good fun if the multiplayer takes off, and if it does, I will purchase it.

With the power ups to be collected and stuff, I imagine a 3 team with friends playing against some other people rather than AI opposition could bring the game to life so much more.

Still not ruling this out. (I think it was £6.29 in the store)

I guess like I said...if multiplayer takes off for a bit, might well be worth it.

It is an arcade experiance and is good for a laugh and for the price is good value

For sure, if you've got some mates to play this with it probably is a good laugh, as it should be quick and simple to get in a game. If enough people start playing this multiplayer I could be tempted, however for now I'll stick to NHL09 for my hockey fix!

i like this, always find the full ice hockey games too complex, this reminds me of the old Midway game which came out of the NBA Jam heritage.

fairly brainless but with enough sheen & depth to justify the purchase for me.

Downloaded the demo on Thursday and loved it. It was so fun! But after buying Lumines this will have to wait until nxt week.

we've played this a lot, but cant comment on the online

safe to say its a multiplayer experience, even allowing for the low price tag the singleplayer experience is thin - you can be red or blue - no official teams, you ccan select your players but this seems to add nothing strategically

the players controls are very satisfying and quite deep though

expect to see more of this from the cash strapped EA, they've ripped the controls from the full price game and removed all the content, then stuck it out for £6.

enjoyable but limited, and at the price still not a bargain.

Looking fwd to giving it a whirl as I have fond memories of the first EA hockey on the Megadrive, hopefully will be able to relive the fun!

well played a few games over PSN fun with a friend but the lag was stupid friend stays in Norway he has T3 so there should be no lag but was a mess EA doing ??
