It sounds like one of those ones where you have just enough time to charge enough for the move. I suppose you just gotta be quick about shifting the stick to charge df (or whereever) while you are dashing and m.punching?

I'm slightly annoyed currently. I managed to battle my way to 9 straight wins in ranked and then someone picks Bison, spams the headstop move and it seems to take priority even over Sagat's Tiger Uppercut. Hence I end up losing. Time to start again (I'm basically playing ranked only to get the 10 win achievement). Any thoughts about what I should have done there?Lie with passion and be forever damned...

I'm not really sure on attack-for-attack counters for headstomp, as it does seem to beat a lot of things. I know that it doesn't beat E.Honda's flying buttsmash though? XD The only advice I can attempt to give would be to dash forward whenever you see him do the jump and punish from there. I'm not sure if blocking it would still give you any kind of significant advantage. Think headstomp's pretty safe on block, though I've not had much experience with Bison.

Just the sheer cheese, someone either being ken 90% of the time, or waiting for you to choose, staying on the default spot, and then moving to akuma (and me then kicking their ass anyway). One guy just stood there throwing fireball after fireball, I just ended up standing there and letting him beat me, fine, you want the win that bad? ****ing have it you cheesy twat.

I suppose that's one way to counter cheesy tactics? Normally people just counter and punish. Not sure how much reverse psychology works online
But, yes, I believe this complaint was brought up several times over the last...20 pages? Cheese-tactics in an online fighting game is a lot like power-up camping in Unreal - very annoying, but not exactly unbeatable.

yeah, hi end stuff is all about super cheese, I just guess I don't find competitive fighting that interesting, or fun. I have online request mode enabled in 1p mode after initially having it off, but I didn't realise that meant you'd get about 5 seconds of 1p play before getting *shock* another request to play some cheesemonger.
edit: that said, out of the 10 matches I've had online, 2 have been fun, and not that cheesy, I guess we were evenly matched or something.Last edited by kernow; 03-03-2009, 23:10.
