    [Wii]Marble Saga: Kororinpa 2

I just wanted to post some very brief first impressions of the ballance board mode.

The first 10 levels are extremely easy, the controls work well and it is very fun to play. After the first 10 you start to leave behind the bog standard levels and you get some very interesting designs.

One level has you roll the ball into a spiral tube, nothing much there then, apart from at the bottom you hit a reverse controls switch and get sent back up the tube (controls reversed). Rather then exit the tube where you first entered you now flip the level and go up the first part of the tube where you could not get access before. This then gets you to another reverse control switch and gets them back to normal. As you can imagine reverse controls on the ballance board is great fun

Another level has a fan to fight against, a lot of the levels have random holes in the table which once you see can fixate your gaze and direction lol

I have to say this is a blast, the board levels are seperate from the main levels and game. This IS what ballance board gaming should be like, easy to understand and play, fun but difficult to master.

I would have been happy if the whole game was like this

Im yet to play the wiimote mode. The graphics are not improved over the first but still suit the game well, the music is also just as Nintendo esque as the first.

So far so good. Hudson seam to be one of few developers who understand the Wii.

    Nice write up

Let me know how the main game plays when you get a chance - I adored the original and can't wait for this to be released. It is coming to the uk, right?

      UPDATE

Ok i have now put some time in on the regular mode (Wii mote control) and the level builder.

The single player normal mode is a lot quicker to get you to the tougher levels. After 5 levels you will find yourself dealing with all sorts of obsticles and hazards. The game is good very good. Much like the first version, the graphics have had a slight improvement and the sounds are still mellow and bouncy.

At the end of the block of 10 levels you have to face a challenge level, these are harder almost boss levels. So far i have only cleared the first 10 levels and it was a simple get to the end, though i expect the later ones to have goals to complete.

The level creator is quite advanced. You have to find and collect junk round the main game and this junk is then made into the objects you can use to build your own levels. These can then be swaped over the net.

All in all this game is extremely good, from the 30 ballance board levels to the free run mode (time trial) and the main game this has a lot of content for your money, all of it extremely well presented and fun to play.

        Has anyone else got this?

I love Kororinpa and am about to pull the trigger. My only concern is there hasn't been as much focus on the main game due to the inclusion of balance board levels. To anyone who has this - The Mole in particular - is the main game comparable in size and quality to the original? I don't have a balance board so will be buying this soley for the normal missions.

Easy if not more. You also have the level editor to make and share your own courses.

In the US version, I think there were something like 30 levels that were designed for the balance board, with the bulk of the levels - over 100 more - being Wii Remote only story mode levels. For the EU release, they seem to have added more balance board stages, but unless they've taken other stages out (which I'd doubt) the bulk of the game is still going to be the story mode.

You can play the balance board levels with the remote too, by the way. They're just differently designed as you're limited in how far you can tilt the map with the balance board.
