This is ultra cheap now and you can pick it up for about a tenner.
It's a pretty impressive title so far. The intro is the original Dragonball intro but done in full 3D, there are plenty of cut scenes throughout and it's a lot like watching the show, they're well animated and the models are very expressive. There's a fair amount of humour (DB was always heavier on the slapstick humour than DBZ) and as far as I can tell, it's the only DS game to feature (brief) full frontal nudity. It doesn't really shy away from any element from the original series.
In terms of gameplay, it plays a lot like Phantom Hourglass but with a focus on action rather than puzzles. Combat involves tapping enemies for regular attacks, tapping Goku and swiping across the screen to do dash attacks (or with the stick streching out from Goku and spinning doing a circular motion for a spinning attack). You dodge by double tapping an empty space.
You level up skills using skill points but otherwise your Ki (mp) and health goes up through finding chests with upgrades in them.
The biggest criticism at the moment is it's slightly imprecise, combat works well for the most part and is incredibly intuitive but you do occasionally accidentally do a power charge move when you want to do stick sweep. It's also a real pain pushing blocks (which you do a fair bit).
If you're after another game that plays like Phantom Hourglass, are a Dragonball fan (it's important to note that Dragonball is quite different in tone and humour content from DBZ) or want an action game that makes good use of the stylus, this could be well worth playing.
Remains to be seen if the combat becomes an issue on harder bosses or if it becomes more fluid.
