    X-Men Origins Wolverine

You can tell it was a game first and a movie licence second, Raven have done a great job.
The pre-rendered cutscenes are near final fantasy level good ! the ingame movie linked ones are nowhere near the quality and suffer in comparison.
It's god if war lite but gory as hell, you can slice limbs and even heads off the bad guys.
You get a life bar and it will re-generate when not taking damage, but when Wolverine does take damage his skin and mussle gets ripped of his frame and he re-generated in realtime.
Dont let the **** movie put you off, or the fact it is a licence.

    Watch in HQ

I wish that Raven were aloud to make the Wolverine game you can see is inside, and the movie did not happen on all levels

Yeah I tried out the demo today and it wasn't too bad actually, however I will probably wait til it (inevitably) gets to around the £20 mark.

Yeah seems like it could be worth full price (£40?!), from the demo it seems like the combat and abilities get upgraded quite a bit. Let us know what it is like as you get further on, might tempt me to pick it up.

Its very tomb raider in its level design atm, just facing the first boss

            Is the demo on Live?

Something about this game really interests me which is surprising as I'm not really into comic book games.

Just think Wolverine is kinda bad ass I guess.

i really liked the psn demo for this, has a really visceral feel as you chew up your enemies, i love the lunge up to the helicopter (and the lunge move in general)

i'm like you though ezee in that I'll wait for it to hit the £20 mark as its not an essential full price purchase

The lunge, and pretty much every move gets upgraded

Like whats been said in the first post "game first movie second", i'm a huge marvel fan and was dissapointed with the Wolvers movie but i 'm very impressed with the game, just loved how they have portrayed wolvers, very animalistic, they've got the gore in there, the graphics look nice ( very uncharted imo ) and the whole game played and felt great.

I got to the end of the demo and wanted to play more and thats what a demo should do imo , so yeah will deffo be picking this up.

I've only played the first level, but I don't think I want to watch the tame film after seeing the game in action.

Don't buy into the marketing bull**** on this one - it is a movie license first and foremost no matter how much spin they've tried to put on it about it being in development first.

It might well have been (hence the way the model in the cutscenes for Logan tend to verge from a Hugh Jackman lookalike to something from the Ultimate Universe) but this game has been given the push to be a movie tie and it looks like they quickly dumped a load of their original ideas when they got the tie on rights.

I'm something like half way through now and it's a typical modern superhero film to game conversion. I've been surprised by how gory it is in parts and it's nice to be able to look around after a fight and see the remains of everyone scattered around. You tend to get swamped with enemies in large parts and it's fun to go bat**** insane and tear every single one of them a new arse as only Wolverine could.

Also nice to watch him regenerate after getting particularly mashed up. Watching the flesh grow back around exposed organs and bones is a small touch but very impressive.

Unless you have a massive urge to play this (for example because you loved the film or maybe just love Hugh Jackman) then I wouldn't recommend picking it up at full price.

It's mindless enjoyable fun but it's not worth the current ?40 asking price.

Only played the demo for this and absolutely bloody well loved it. Visceral, violent and in your face. Wolverine is awesome in this. I might pick it up at full price though with my backlog if I leave it I'm sure it'll be reduced in price in no time.

It's definitely a cut above all them other crappy movie tie ins doing the rounds and just from the demo get the impression that it did start life as another game and then had the movie stuff shoehorned into it.

But boy I do love that lunge move

7.8 from IGN, 7.2 from GameTrailers but a 5 from Eurogamer. Reviews seem to be better than expected so far.
