You can't ALWAYS get a game with PS3 users, I've tried playing games like Calling All Cars plenty of times with nobody on.

Oh come on mate, I know this forum has a 360 bias but that is really really reaching! We can't even get more than 5 people (despite protestations to the contrary and despite playing it almost every night for the last two weeks) playing Fifa 09 online on the 360, are you really comparing a 10 month old huge sports title to an ancient downloadable only game?

I've over 40 friends on my list (did a massive cull a while back) and I play with about 5 of those regularly, of whom I've known 2 in real like for a long long time. Every week they are playing a different game every night, the next big thing always being the in-thing for that week.

I'm getting a bit further, it now at least says "joining game" before telling me "the game appears to be unavailable".

What's really annoying is there's one person on my Friends List who has been playing this since release every time I've been on Live.

Ive got a huge list of friends on PS3 that I can play numerous games with every night. Very dedicated following of Fifa/FNR4/Grid/SFIV/MSPR and on and on so many we have game nights. 360 lot its new game and move on very quickly compared from what Ive seen over last few years. So much so I switched at xmas when PS3 games became as good as the 360 version for multi platform as I get more online gaming with peeps I know.

I'm afraid that's very true. I game with my friends mainly on the 360, as only a few have a PS3. The original crowd I play with never get in to the same game these days, a few of them move game to game seemingly weekly, while a couple of us stick around with the older titles - we still play GRAW. On the plus side, despite have the Sony mic, the comms are fair better on the 360, so for us, it's more easier socially to set up a room on the 360 then chat as we're all playing different games

I got into a game last night. Very enjoyable, though needs a patch to fix some of the graphical hiccups that obscured my screen from time to time (I think it was incorrectly projected shadows with slow updates). Fighting seems balanced, only encountered a bit of lag with planes jumping a little, and once or twice I teleported outside a vehicle. No latency problems. Once it's calmed down and users have reached a steady number, the online will be as smooth as you can get

In the 6 or so games I played, I saw only two instances of teamwork. Hopefully that will come when people work out what they're doing.

Didn't know how I'd like the 3 classes, but they all seem balanced. I like infinite ammo, but think the planes should have to return to base to grab bombs.

Looking forward to playing it tonight, hopefully with my friends - only one could get into the game last night, so the rest of them jumped into Worms instead.

I was simply comparing the fact that they were both arcade games and I remember that being pretty busy at launch, I'm not bias to 360 at all. We had problems getting people to play Street Fighter 4 on PS3 but I reckon that was more due to the fact that most people here seem to own 360s over PS3s.

My PS3 gets plenty of play time and if I had more friends who played it online I'd play it more than my 360

I was merely pointing out that I think Malc has totally got it backwards, in 6 months NOBODY will be playing this on 360, least not compared to the PS3.

There is a bias born out of the simple fact that the 360 pwnz the PS3...if you only have a PS3 I guess its OK for you to get Battlefield for it...but you really should spend some cash on a 360 and play with everybody else.

As a big Battlefield fan I'm impressed with this, bar the unacceptable server issues. Captures that Battlefield atmosphere nicely and everything feels great. Only negatives I have is the main map is Wake Island, which I was never a fan of, and the small player limit makes it feel quite empty.

They need smaller maps if its going to be locked at 24 player.

They NEED some more servers 1st of all in my eyes !!! I've not managed to connect once in probably a couple of hundred attempts as yet!!!

I lolled hard at "should have both systems" I know we're talking about the 360 and PS3, but I doubt that would have changed if the Wii were even in the discussion!

I was only messing, the PS3 has an entire virtual world inside it...I've been there...360 only has a bunch of crap streaming interviews about games nobody plays. This feels a little off topic tho, so I would recommend the PS3 version as you will at least be able to get online with it and when your not you can spend your time queuing up to play a virtual helicopter game in a virtual shopping centre.
