Yeah, I got a 10m bonus for completing a world without losing a life so it's probably that.

I haven't really got a strategy to be honest. I've still not been brave enough to use more than a single ball, which I guess would improve the multiplier (And potentially the speed at which you clear levels... and lose lives) - I just try and pick up all of the powerups I can without sacrificing the ball.

The problem I see with the multiplier is that by the time you have a huge multiplier the stage is basically over, along with the scoring opportunities. Not sure how to reliably build it up early in a round - in fact I'm not entirely sure what builds and breaks it at all to be honest.

      Its actually very deep.

I bought it tonight and got 155mill on first go. Just had another quick go and got 60mill up to first boss.

Love it anyway very very good game best prob since Rez and its less than a £5

I would've liked the game to be harder earlier on, right now I only have to pay attention during boss battles. There is the multiball option to make it harder of course but the levels could've had a bit more challenge themselves imho.

The game isnt easy though if you want to multiply and get a good score. If you want a good score you need to have 4 balls going and if you drain one the next drop will be a 1up. It has a heck of a lot of depth to that. If you play just to finish with one ball its much easier though but of course not much score.

I managed to get just over 62million on 1st level on one go but had to stop as door went lol

currently @ 327million i think it was but i havent played it for a few days and i only need the boss attack trophy for 100%.

To accumulate a higher score launch as many multi balls as possible on the first world and you'll notice that you'll be able to stockpile loads of extra lives.
Go for perfects for that lovely 10m bonus.
                practice the bonus stage!!!.
milk the bosses, hoard shards and shard storm the bosses.
shard storm in general as often as humanly possible.
do not let any free roaming blocks roam past your ship or multiplier depletes.
use the shield for close encounters.
invinciball imo is the best power up, shards a plenty.

there is also another bonus ive achieved a few times but have absolutely no idea how, you get it apparently for "not touching the sides".......sides of what?

there's loads more other tips and the game is infact incredibly deep and probably the best game ive downloaded off psn, its an absolute steal at under a fiver.

Captain Kirk set the lawyers to stun when he heard a skin was coming for the PSN game "Shatter," using his likeness and including a remix of Big Bill's "Mr. Tambourine Man" cover. One problem: the news was a joke.

Two weeks back, New Zealand site Game Console wrote up a spoof about Kiwi dev Sidhe, based in Wellington, claiming they were developing a skin for the breakout/Arkanoid clone that would replace the blocks with Shatner's face, among other things.

Taking apparently everything at face value, Boston Legal swooped in with a cease-and-desist to Sidhe. and, not only that, notified Paramount Studios (the Star Trek licensor) and Bob Dylan of the developments.

Though he didn't write it, it so helps ... if you ... read this in ... Shatner's ... ... voice, full of ... gratuitious pauses ... and inflections.
We represent William Shatner and it has come to our attention that you are planning to develop or have already developed and will soon place on the market for commercial sale a digital game utilizing our client's name and likeness as well as infringing on both Paramount's rights to the character 'Captain Kirk' and Bob Dylan's rights to the song "Mr. Tambourine Man".

Please be advised that you are to immediately cease and desist the further development, production, and or distribution of the game SHATNER or any other product that uses William Shatner's name or likeness without first obtaining his approval.
Wynands sent this, and also posted it on . NeoGAF

                    Thank you for your email.

The GameConsole 'report' you reference is what is commonly referred to on the internet as a 'joke'. The article is a parody of our game, and has no basis in reality in that it does not in any way reflect our intentions for further development of the Shatter IP or relate to any official statement we have made relating to the game.

We have the upmost respect for Mr William Shatner and the licensing process, and if we had any intent of using rights related to either Mr Shatner, Star Trek, or Tambourine Man (which we do not) we would do so using the appropriate channels.

Please respond acknowledging your receipt and understanding of this message, and confirming you have notified both Paramount and Bob Dylan's representatives of your misunderstanding.

I bought it for the full asking price yesterday. It's fantastic, I would have paid $9.99 even with the $1 minimum.

I heartily recommend this, but I can't give you a comparison with Shooter just yet as I haven't picked it up.

They're very different games. Shatter, for me, does hell of a lot of things right, but shoots itself in the foot by making itself too easy, thus making every game a test of how much free time you have. You can "self-challenge" yourself and try to make the game more difficult if you're going for high scores, but I never found it worth the effort. Shooter is also quite easy, but compartmentalised so you can sort of do a bit, then stop. They are both decent titles though, so I'd get both and show support to devs who aren't churning out cookie cutter 3rd person cover shooters.

Musically I actually think Shooter is the more interesting title though - the Shatter soundtrack is very nice but rather by-the-book electronica. The Shooter soundtrack is eclectic and very interesting.
