I keep trying to resist buying this but the Beatles fan in me is desperate to justify a purchase.

Now, our house isn't really a hub for mates to gather and make a lot of noise due to young children in bed. My wife isn't interested in gaming. And my sons are too young to play.

So ... is it worth getting for the single player experience?

Rock Band for me is the best party game ever, but I hardly touch it in solo mode. I can see myself playing this a bit more solo, but not much.

I was thinking that might be the case. Thanks for that ... I've got my sensible head on again now

No word yet then what the first album DLC will be and when?

I am desperate for Abbey Road or Rubber Soul!

I think it's the end of each month starting from October for album downloads. Abbey Road then Sgt Pepper then Rubber Soul. Revolver is rumoured for January.

In other news I got the 7th highest score on the PS3 leaderboards for Paperback Writer on bass the other day, go me. Probably ranked 1065 by this point right enough.

I'd rather have Revolver than Rubber Soul tbh. The White Album is one I really want as it means more new songs than any other album and I'd also get to play Everybody's Got Something To Hide Except Me & My Monkey.

A fair bit of Abbey Road is already in the game so I'd hope/expect a cheaper price for that one.

More importantly though, I want to be able to play the medley as it appears on the album. I'm dead scared they are going to break up each song with "results" since even when creating a setlist you can't play continuously...if they do that, they may as well not bother with Abbey Road.

Golden Slumbers > Carry That Weight > The End = HEAVEN!

For me, my top three album choices would be :

                  Rubber Soul
                  Abbey Road
                  Revolver

Harmonix already confirmed that if you buy the Abbey Road album, you'll be able to play the medley without any breaks.

Limited single-player or not I think I'm going to pick this up anyway. I simply can't ignore a Beatles game with such high praise and production values.

Any differences between the PS3 & 360 versions?

I find this very hard to see the notes - especially when it enters Overdrive.

Granted the lounge TV is a crappy Samsung LCD from 2006 but it actually kills my eyes.

I don't get this with normal RB.

I figure I'll have to set up a custom setting - does anyone else suffer from this?

Had my first play session last night and had a great time with it. This is my first RockBand game and I was very impressed at the quality throughout the whole package. And the game itself captures the character and eras wonderfully.

I only played a little, wanting to eek out the story mode as much as poss, so only got a little way through the Ed Sullivan Show. As a 'music game' it's functional, and like the Guitar Hero games some songs feel like you're shifting between real chords on a real guitar while others just feel like playing a rhythm game.

But to me, more than anything, this game is simply another way to enjoy The Beatles.

Looking forward to having a go at some multi-player action ... that's when it'll really deliver the smiles.

Like others in this thread I'm looking forward to downloading Abbey Road later this month for that incredible final medly. Beyond that, though I've not touched the drums yet, drumming along to A Day In The Life really appeals whenever Pepper shows up.

Played some multi-player for the first time last night, giving the drums their first airing too.

                            Still buzzing now.

I got the trickiest of the three "hammer-on/pull-off/no-strumming" cheeves last night on "Dig A Pony" ... that's me pretty much 100%'d the guitar achievements now. Onto drums then vocals.

It's good fun. I'm not really that mad about The Beatles, but I'd say that "Good Morning, Good Morning" is easily my favourite of them all here.

My only gripe with this game is that some tracks have the guitar part start while the little picture is still hovering over the highway...
