If you're not into fansubs it's easy that you wouldn't know. In the Death Note anime, a now infamous fansubbing group translated on of Light's line as "everything is going according to keikaku", adding "note: keikaku means plan" on the upper side of the screen. It immediately became an internet meme, a simple search will surely give you the exact screenshot or one of the million movitational posters dedicated to it.

Remember the guy twice the size of Rinko? I met him again and apparently I beat him down, upsetting Rinko with the usual "what if you got hurt?" at the end.

Oh well...unfortunately she found where I've hid her tsun side and switched back to blue again. Interesting thing, although she's blue (paying for subscription) she's more open than before; patterns have changed from pink and are different from her initial blue: she speaks more openly, is not so nihilistic as before although she won't go as far as giggling for almost everything you say.
The game really shines in these small details, that's way I find the lack of interactivity so detrimental to the game.

And again I had a good laugh once again when goingo to bed I was greeted by an unusual text box...Rinko showed up at a wooden door with a red and white apron and much more mature than she is in the game: yes, it was a dream of the two of us being an happy married couple (gah that sounds baaaaad, should have called my character is a different way than myself). From what I've gathered, I was late for work and Rinko kept me at the doorstep unwilling to let me go (hence the apron...no, she had a dress under it). Every time my character started to move away (camera shifting its perspective slightly) she would shout ANATAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA to call me back...before I could go she had me say 100.000 times "I love you", literally of course, using the DS microphone and I complied for 6 six times before the game made me woke up and here starts off another day.
The scene used both screens and it was quite comical as it used a lot of anime situations and expressions while dreaming...you know, it was a session like any other until that dream that left a positive impression on me, it was something different and, well, completely in character for Rinko as you mention cats she goes crazy and won't stop until the game fades her out.

Almost maxed out Rinko's primary stat (sense), maybe that's why I had that dream...OK, I'm starting to be interested in what could happen next.
Something I'll have to test is if the game has some sort of Mister Resetti since you can only save and quit.

Friends part over, next time I'll finally start the lovers phase which should give more options to the player.

After you finish the first part (girl confesses to you) credits roll and the game triumphantly shows a "GET!" when you go back to the save slot menu.

When the girl calls you out to confess you're able to reject her, but as usual the rest of the scene is just a scripted dialogue...I'm also thinking to start over a new file (you can have up to three) and see how someone reacts to a "no" at the of the confession. Manaka looks like the more likely to end up in big tears so I might go with her.

From what I've gathered, you trigger the confession by getting the first dream with a girl and then spend a part of the day where her icon shows up (in Rinko's case, library during the afternoon), then the game automatically forces you go listen to the confession...I might be a big bastard, but I would have loved the option to ignore that call altogether.

To sum up the "friends" part: Konami has a lot of experience in galge games and it shows: there are a lot of events, the game keeps track of most of them and the animations are simply stunning; girl behaviours are incredible too, changing according to your actions and how you spend your days. However the interaction is very limited, only major events have just one choice to make and nothing else...essentially you are tied by the script developers thought and probably it will be a very sharp contrast on what you can do in the "lovers" phase.

Other games kept me busy so I started the "lovers" part a few days back.

Whenever you load a "lovers" save you're asked to enter skip or real time mode and you can even change modes while playing.
The lovers section has much more freedom than the previous part, you can access your computer to see what's hot in town today, a blood type-based horoscope (IIRC something Japanese are hooked to) and to ask your girl for a date. Based on your relationship and/or stat level you can choose between several activities all around town: movies, zoom, aquarium, park, cafe and so on.
And so the first thing I did was to set up a date for Sunday afternoon at 2:00 PM...however it was too early for her and 3:00 PM it was. Unfortunately I royally screwed it up by showing up an hour late, didn't brought back the DS clock a week before. She was mad, but in the end we ended strolling on a random city street with the game flashing the mic icon. I was at home but aside basic Japanese sentences like "where's the toilet?" are still beyond me, so I skipped the part and...well, ended up in the same sequence as of course going around town takes time.
I tested skip mode today, and it's essentially the same thing as the "friends" part, with some sort of kissing minigame thrown in. You can still set up dates and so on but you have to create a list of daily activities like before, though everything is available, even going out during school hours; the game won't let you do so, and during evening you have to set up dates to go out...no more random girl encounters for me, I already have one, which essentially answers my question if you can cheat on someone.
The game turns up the interactivity a notch asking you more questions on what to do and letting you touch the girl when going to/from school. You can touch her hand, but if there are too many people watching, she'll reject you (in Rinko's case, she'll blush and tsunderely "yada!" you). Do it right and you'll lovely walk home holding her hand.
The kissing minigame is quite elaborate and before to get to the actual kiss you first need to touch her hairs/ears/cheeks/shoulders, then repeat for just her face and finaly you get to kiss her. From what I've seen there's no penalty in touching the wrong part so non-Japanese speakers can randomly touch everywhere without fear: the game does list the part you have to touch, but again, limited Japanese comprehesion will frustrate you.
And this was one of my biggest fears, that the most interactive and interesting part of the game will be ampered by limited language capabilities: the game does a good job with the interface with colored text and easy-to-understand icons, but instructions and choices are completely beyond the non-speakers. In truth I don't think you can go worst than a no or a momentary unhappy face.
The game still has incredible animations and a lot of effort has been put even in the smallest detail, which are the true highlight of the game.

Let's see how long I can put up with Rinko until she ends like a Tamagotchi.
