Been playing this for a few hours so far this morning, pretty fun game but be warned its hard hard haaaard.
For those who don't know what this game is, it's basically a japanese reworking of a rather old western pc game called the incredible machine. There is already a incredible machine game out on the ds but this games does it differently by adding the main character in the game into the stage so it becomes a lot different to play. But if you have played incredible machine before you will know what to expect.
The story is pretty much filler Himawari chan is given an errand to deliver a daikon radish to to her dad (lol er ok) quite why her dad wants a huge radish i have yet to find out, but on the way you meet other people including your friends.
Ok in the stages you have a list of items you can use to help assist her reaching the goal and the goal is reached by either getting Himawari chan to the marked goal area (usually a character is there waiting like her dad or a friend) or by activating the stars that are dotted in the level or by getting a ball into a basket or getting the radish on the level a mixture of all 4.
Getting Himawari to do things depends on the mood & strength meters on the top screen, if her strength is too low she can't push certain items & she can't run up slopes, also it will affect her interactions with other things too, in some of the puzzles your given food to keep her strength up, these have to be strategically placed in the puzzle so she has enough strength to do the next bit.
Also theres items like banana skins that piss her off, theres one puzzle with a ball that you need her to kick it instead of throwing it like she will normally do, you have to place the banana in front of the ball to make her fall & get mad so she does the correct action. from what i can see theres space for 128 levels, currently stuck on level 9, im nearly there but i need to work out what to do with the fan.
Anyway once you have placed all the items in the level you then press the play button & watch it all work out (or not), if you did it wrong you can press stop & tweak the items & try again you are not penalized in any way for retrying theres no time limits to stick to, some items can be rotated or flipped adding to the complexity of some puzzles. The game also uses the wifi connection too but i havent tested it out yet, the manual mentions that you can download new levels, i wonder if it will let you design your own hmmm that would be cool.
Graphics are nicely animated, music is equally as cheery, the language barrier is pretty simple everythings easy to navigate, however at the start of each puzzle your given a small bit of text telling you the objective of the level, obviously that will make things a bit harder but not that bad so far (as of yet, but not sure just how much it will matter when the puzzles get really complex later on) so far so good, another nice interesting game for the ds that will slip by & be lost in the sea of crap thats out there, so for those puzzle lovers i recommend you go hunting for a copy you'll like it a lot
