Was that on PS3? If so...you son of a bitch!

any tips for levelling up more quickly in MP? i manage to make 100-200 points on average each game, thus taking me 30 to 60 games to just reach my first rank Private 1.

I was slow to get points at first but I've found that playing Rush pays out well, if defending you get a lot of bonuses for killing nearby the A and B markers as it classes as defending them. Last night was games of extremes for me. On the first hand I had a game where I scored very highly (for me) and had a string of medals at the end a mile long and then for my final game it showed how dim many of the players are on this.

The game started and after about 10 minutes every single player on my team had quit the game and a chunk of the opposition had gone too. This left the odds massively stacked against me, did I lose? Of course I did... but not until an hour later. By sticking it out on the epically drawn out dumbfest I finished with a good score and a 'best player' medal but the fact it took them all that time is typical of too many of the players. All too often I'm the only player going after the targets. Why the team needs 1 offensive player and 9 snipers I'll never know.

Seriuously, focus on being a squad player as engineer or medic. You don't even have to shoot straight but can still get over a 1000 points per round just through squad bonuses.

Yep, its frustrating when everyone plays a sniper and doesn't move anywhere. I am guessing they only care about their own kills rather than winning the match. Sad really. The obvious solution is to have less points for sniping and a bigger winning bonus.

This is the fastest way to level up in my opinion. Playing as assault and feeding your squad mates ammo is also pretty good, especially in "defend the crate inside the house"-situations where everybody tends to hole up close together. That will get you a lot of resupply score.

Oh how I love my tracer dart, nothing beats hitting a chopped from miles away then whacking a homing missile into it's tail

My other irk is the Modern Warfare players who think the aim of the game is to make it all the way into your base and then hide in a crafty spot and do nothing but kill you as you spawn.

One guy last night was doing it repeatedly, despite his team mates going for the objective he just wouldn't help them as they got slaughtered over and over (I know because he got me twice with a good gap in between). Of course the majority of these players are also far too stupid to realise that if you do this sort of thing you have to strike fast and keep moving instead of just sitting there and guffawing at how 'clever' you are.

He didn't think it was funny when one of my squad ran interference while I snuck up and knifed him in the head. And I must admit I teabagged him too.

Didn't stop him trying it again though. He got a grenade round in his back that time for his troubles.

God damn there are alot of bloody snipers in this at the moment. I wouldn't mind but Sniping is my strength but more often than not I end up changing classes just to try and give the team a little balance. The fact that half of them aren't any good at it and barely any of them back use of the BACK button to spot people just infuriates me. I swear I'm the only one who does spotting sometimes. In one game last night I racked up nearly 1000pts in spotting bonuses alone, which at 20pts per kill means nearly 50 died because of my help. I just wish more would do their job, the class is called RECON for a reason...

Tell you what worse though, 5 snipers on your team with an enemy tank spamming you and Not ONE sniper goes for it with C4. Honestly on port valdez first M-Coms I had a squad of snipers, one guy snuck behind the already destroyed Com A (the house?) Com B (the ditch?) had a tank close to it just mopping up. He just sat hidden and sniped (very badly!) I got SO wound up in the end I spawned on him as recon, C4d the tank and eventually took the M-Com myself with 7 tickets left. It just threw points at me which I was happy to mop up.

Ugh, tell me about it. The saddest thing about it is Recon's can use mortar strikes too so between that and C4 there's no reason why tanks should get anywhere near the bases with so many Recon players about...

Damn, that was a pre-order exclusive right? I'm always looking for an easier way to take down those blasted helicopters.

Also, what types of rocket launchers work with the tracer darts to give them homing capabilities?

                          Comment

It's only part of the CE for now but I think they are releasing it as paid DLC at some point.

Any launcher will work with a tracer dart, even the bog standard RPG that the engineer has.

Just tag them with a dart and then get them in your sights with the RPG to lock on. The tag will do the rest once you hit the fire button.

It's also unlockable by default once you've progressed through the rankings (i think it was in the low teens when i got it) though i had it already via the VIP code.
Same with the Thompson M141 rifle, as that gets unlocked as you play, which is unlocked before the tracer dart.

As for mentions of games where it's occupied with team-snipers etc...
Unfortunately, there's no incentive to win. Sure you get a 100pt badge for winning that respective mode, but the fact of the matter is, there is greater XP rewards for doing your own thing.
                              Whether it be padding your:
                              - K/D ratio
                              - Sniper kills which = kill points + headshot points + marksman points, which means you can get roughly 200 pts per kill. And if you're defending an M-com station whilst doing the kill, add on those points.
                              - then there's resupplies, which can net you good pts as they're 20pts a resupply/ heal. Not to mention revives will net you 100pts as well.

I hear you, yep the amount of blatant COD players in BF:BC 2 is obvious. I wonder if it was the same guy in our game. He kept spawn camping so me and my mate ran over to where he was hold up on a building I ran up the ladder and shot him before he got a chance to try for a knife kill. Then the winning blow I teabagged him for being an utter c**t.

Also earlier in the evening one of our usual squad got stuck on the other team so was trying to hunt us with the knife and his recon kit. He was giving a lot of abuse with it until one time when I could hear the 'ping' of his sensor. I dropped down and ran into out base, knowing I had picked up my 'guest' jumped over a concrete blockade did a 180 and blam in the face. He was not happy
