I'd tried one of the fins and on that occasion it failed to register. Looks like I need to keep trying from there. Thanks
I have got into the habit of not using the parachute lately. Had a mental block on one jump and somehow forgot the button to press and opened the parachute as I reached the ground and managed to walk away unscathed!
Finally got to draw a moustache and glasses on one of the billboards... nice touch that!
Took the helicopter from Hantu Island again (did the Faction Mission) and played around at the airbase, walking through buildings and driving through buildings. I decided to drive away and of course went straight through the bridge which caught me out a bit!

One of the games that my "Gaming Overload" let slip. It was ?9 from my indie on PC, so I thought I'd add it to my steam collection and try and give the title a bit more TLC.
What a fun game! What amazing visuals! What scope for mayhem!
The missions are OK so far (6 hours in) but like Crackdown, I feel it's the actual gaming mechanics themselves that are the draw, not the missions themselves.
I'm using the 360 controller and just as was posted back in April, the controls just "Clicked" and before I knew it I was harpooning left right and centre, and raining fire death onto the AI.
I also much say that the visuals really are quite amazing, I read that they are one of the few games to use the i7 type of Quad Core CPU's for "Geometry" physics or something. Whatever, the point is that having that view distance makes flying a mini jet into the sunset a bit bloody special!
I keep losing myself and just taking on random bases, and causing chaos, but I'll try and return to mission modes at the weekend.
The game looked lush on my 360 too, but at 1080p on the iMac it really does impress.

Yeah man, I prefer the 360 controller for all "Console as leading platform" games. Even Black Ops is more fun for me on the controller, I'm too old to learn all the keys!! Bumpers and Triggers plus face buttons = win.
I got the wireless dongle here used for a few quid. A solid investment!
I appreciate that 60% of NTSC-uk don't want a hardware refresh of consoles, but a PC plus 360 controller means I can do the refresh myself.

Is this the greatest game known to man? I think so!
Playing it off the back of the first (literally finished the first, quit and opened up the second), and it is an improvement in every way. The visuals are amazing, especially considering the scale of the game. The grapple finally works like I wished it did in the first. My only complaint so far is that I die a lot. Guess I shouldn't have put it on hardcore...
Seriously though, I can't believe it took me this long to get into the game. Why wasn't their more hype about it? In the first (second maybe) mission I was standing on top of a moving car, using the grapple to tie the jeeps chasing me to nearby trees and bridges. Seeing them go flying when the rope pulled tight had me grinning like an idiot. Since then I've been mucking around, finding towns/bases and trying to 100% them. Can get a bit tricky trying to find all the crates, but the game is just such great fun.
As an aside, I had a look and apparently this sold just shy of a million units. Not bad, but no where near as much as it deserves. A few pages back someone asked if they should get this for the multiplayer or stick with modern warfare 2. I don't usually have a problem with call of duty or whatever other big franchise is out (and I seriously hope the comparison was a joke), but it really concerns me that there are people that think like this.
Anyhow, it I liked it that much that I slapped down $9 for all the DLC weapons available. Didn't seem to be anything that special, but over Steam I know at least some of the money will make its way to Avalanche, they certainly deserve it.

I just tied this up last night. 90-odd hours of play for me. I took over all 9 strongholds, completed 49 faction missions, and 100%ed all 369 locations (even though there are only 368 mapped ... don't ask).
Only missed a few achievements but I think I've leveled out on the game. Really enjoyed it on the whole, in spite of the spawning enemies.

Sounds pretty much what I achieved with the game a while ago. I 100%-ed the locations and did the Strongholds and Missions. Never did find all the pipelines. Something to return to at some point I suppose as I still have some races to do. I think I managed more than 90 hours play for the ?17.99 I payed for it.

I know i'm late (as i am with everything) but made a start on this in the last week and totally loving it, right up my street. Still trying to get to grip with the controls, i'm playing the hardest difficulty and find when i get in trouble with the baddies they are all over me and i struggle to escape. I'm sure it'll sort itself out.
Anyway, the obsessive completionist in me will no doubt be interested in getting 100% on this game and i managed to find a decent app to help me - it loads the map and your save game from the PC or 360, and tells you what you still need to get and where it all is. Very nice. Anyway, here's the somewhat daunting screenshot of what i still have to find:
