Finally the game has clicked.
Bloody game, I was ready to trade the twat in after I played through Agency Mission 3. Not only does it go on forever, one of the soldiers you are supposed to kill got stuck underneath a hut, the guy you are supposed to protect is a complete imbecile and kept running into enemies and the colonel was a complete bitch. The game doesn't tell you they are immune to bullets, so I took up a sniper position, ordered a sniper from the black market and fired several shots at him only for nothing to happen. The only way I could beat him in the end was to cook a grenade just right and lob it at him.
Anyway, after that travesty of a mission, I got into tooling around a bit more, searching for crates and just blowing **** up.....and it has become a lot of fun. I love the special locations like the mile high club and the airport. the use of the grapple has become second nature now and it's brilliant zipping around the levels. It's also the best way to avoid enemy fire, something that was peeing me off before.
Looking forward to playing it some more, but can't say i'm that bothered by trying the next agency mission. Ze iz le crap!

despite having finished all missions in the game this is still my most played game at the moment as I mess around in Mercenary Mode
for those who want to put a face to the legend that is Bolo Santosi, here she is :-

I completed all the agency missions at the weekend on normal. Glad I've got them out of the way as they are by far the worst bit of the game.
Mercenary mode is a hoot, but I don't know if I can be bothered to get up to 75% as the percentage moves sooooo slooooowly. I might get 50% and then trade it in.

I enjoyed the demo, but I am struggling a bit with this. I find that I can't make the character do what I want him to do. I'm fumbling with the controls and finding it really hard to do crazy stuff, and instead just run around shooting wildly...Do the controls "Click" after a while?
With this and Metro 2033 I think I've lost my ability to change to a new control configuration. COD and BF have ruined me.

Finally got this on 360 as it was cheap (at last).
Struggling a bit with getting 100% at that horseshoe shaped island (military Harbour) Pulau Berapi. If anyone can remember the game that is...
I started out with a helicopter and took out a few silos. After abandoning the helicopter I disabled a pipeline. Progressed to the Torpedo/Gunboat and sat in the middle of the harbour taking out silos with the gun. Did the same thing going round outside the island. I walked the road around the island carrying a Gatling Gun and took out the last of the silos. Finally I was in a helicopter and took out a couple of objects on the ground near the Harbour Entrance to increase the percentage a little more.I am now on 89% and can find no more targets. What am I missing?

I am now up to about 100 hours. I have found all the locations and have completed 9 Strongholds with one or two missions thrown in for good measure.
I decided it was time to visit "Hatch" Island (or whatever it is really called) with its nod to Lost...
Just in case new players don't want to see what happens (happened?)...
I took a Helicopter out from the Harbour Stronghold in Panau City. Needless to say I had a bit of a shock when it exploded. I found the hatch without too much of a problem. I called in a Hovercraft and proceeded around the coast. Reached the beach in the East only to be greeted by some enemies. Unfortunately got a little too far from the Hovercraft. Was going to restart from a "proper" save but it was a little too far in the past (I had picked up a crate in a previous location on the island.
Reloaded and took a boat out this time heading to the East side directly. Another shock as the boat blew up. After greeting the welcoming committee on the beach I took a minigun and went along the river and inland.
I reached the towers and started to climb the tallest one (as one would!). I was part way up and managed to fall off. I could not open the parachute and thought I would have to make my way to the island again. I needn't have worried as I fell slowly (and safely) to the ground.
At the second attempt I got to the top. First surprise was the enemies not speaking English. Second was reaching the spinning device inside at the top. What is the thing? I went down the quick way (using a parachute successfully this time).
Proceeded out to the coast following the road through the base. Disposing of a few enemies on the way. Took the Transport Helicopter and decided to head for the main island (headed to the Airbase in the North West of the main island as I had this at 100%). I got above the clouds (I presume it always rains on the island) and was over 4.5 kilometres up. It took an age to get back to ground level.
I was interested that the Helicopter (all black) had what looked liked Japanese Insignia though on a square white background.
I arrived over the airbase at Banjaran Gundin on my return from the island and came down to land on the concrete. Much to my surprise the Helicopter disappeared into the ground.. It would also go through the roof and walls of the hangar and fly through it. I landed on the runway and hit solid ground a bit below the actual runway level. I took off and landed normally on some ordinary ground near the road. Bizarre to say the least. The effect went away when I got out of the Helicopter and got back in again. I did take a video of the effect...

Apparently the effect is repeatable. Someone else took the same Helicopter to the same Airbase and was able to replicate the effect. They were even able to get a into a vehicle on the same base and drive through things with that as well.
The Helicopter can be found at 3089/1579 near the Northern Bay on the island.

The 1000m base jump freefall is eluding me. Somewhere suggested the Casino which was about 450 metres when I hit the ground. I tried the (half!) "Mile High Club" which didn't always seem to qualify as a base jump for some reason. I managed 804 metres so far from there, that was from the deck. Any other places to try?
