Only works with Diamond and Pearl (and Platinum in Japan), but didn't realise SoulSilver was the first one you had of this generation. Don't know why Nintendo refuse to update Ranch for compatibility or give us a different tool like Box on Gamecube. With Black and White coming out for the DS, we'll have had a total of 7 or 8 titles this generation and it looks like the first without a decent storage utility to hook up to; ridiculous considering the wireless connectivity between the DS and Wii.

In other news I now have a load of Totodiles after a monster (lol) breeding session last night. If anyone is in desperate need I'm happy to trade one off, and unlike the WFC I won't be asking for a lvl 100 mew in return!

I'm right in thinking you cant breed legendaries right?

You can breed Manaphy, but it will only produce a Phione.

If anyone wants a Dratini Egg I have a couple (so far). Saves the trouble of playing Voltorb Flip as it took me a while to win enough coins to buy mine in Goldenrod City. Th other alternative is to wait until you arrive and have beaten the Gym Leader in Blackthorn City and have got one to spawn (which happens fairly infrequently) in the Dragon's Den.

I caught a couple of Dratini in Blackthorn City. A Lvl 15 which I sent to Soulsilver (to save having to do Voltorb Flip there) and a Lvl 8 (now 15) which is in Day Care with my Ditto.

I managed to catch Ho-oh after a few failed attempts (having taken the precaution of saving on the Tower Roof just before going to Ho-oh). I expended 11 Great Balls and 3 (or 9!) Ultra Balls plus 4 Hyper Potions in the process. With that, my (now) Lvl 56 Dragonite and Lvl 34 (so far) Red Gyarados I don't foresee too much problem with Victory Road, other than the aggravation (I presume) of making my way along it. It has always struck me as a bit of a tedious exercise.

I honestly read that as 'it will only produce an Iphone'. I know Metal Gear has product tie ins but that would have been ridiculous!

I'm just before Blackthorn Gym at Goldenrod but I need to level up my team. My Feraligator is level 49 but the rest (Dratini, Yanma, Kadabra, Scyther, Ghastly, Machop, Growlithe) Are all about level 26. Where is the best spot for experience pre-kanto?

Looking to breed Pokémon and become the best Pokémon trainer around?

              There's an app for that!

I did some level grinding on Route 45 out of Blackthorn. The Pokemon there were Lvl 23-27 (ignoring Geodudes of course). Gravelers were the best giving 400+ exp each. With a couple of Rare Candies I now have a Lvl 57 Dragonite with Ho-oh at 45 and my red Gyarados at lvl 36 (been using my Exp Share with the Dragonite to gain some levels though it takes a while).

I believe there are Lvl 38's beyond the Waterfall as you go into Kanto. I read about them somewhere online. I will have to investigate as I need to go to Victory Road.

A lack of high level wild Pokémon seems to be a bit of an issue in HGSS.

The best place so far is to go back into Victory Road from the Elite 4. Around 600-800 (ish) Exp per Pokemon there. At least the gauge on my Lvl 65 Dragonite does seem to move a bit. A Lucky Egg from Pearl (or I presume Diamond) would give it a boost (+50% I think).

I just downloaded the new Pokewalker Route (Winner's Path) from the Nintendo Wifi. This is available until 25th June I think.

I managed to get some quick steps on my Pokewalker by holding it in one hand and giving some gentle applause in the vertical rather than the normal horizontal plane. Easy to do (quietly) while watching the TV I suppose. Quicker than walking I think. I need to find an automatic method of achieving that now!

I heard that if you left one on a plasma ball (those desk toys with electricity inside) it fools the accelerometer into clocking up, though i've seen no proof and there is every chance it would brick your pokewalker.

Thanks for the tip on the new pokewalker route, does it delete the yellow forest i already have or does it stay too?

                          You keep Yellow Forest.

On my SS Pokewalker I found Bronzors and on my HG one I found... Magikarp (oh joy!). Set the SS one for a different Route and sent a Pokemon to it. Before I could do that with the HG one a Magikarp (argh!!!) had taken up residence so it looks like another Winner's Path session on that one!

I switched out my route last night so I could hunt the winners path on a step total of over 10,000 and I saw a Munchlax! But it got away. Then sadly i continued to hunt for it but the steps reset as I had passed midnight, boo hoo!

I'm getting into the swing of breeding my pokemon now, mainly as i have used the earthquake TM on my Feraligator and apparently you only get one and it's supposed to be a great move for most pocket monsters to have.

So I grabbed a larvitar from the safari zone as eventually I want to have a godzilla style pokemon and found out that it learns earthquake at Level 40. I bred it with my Feraligator and now have a level 1 larvitar that has earthquake, sweet! It didn't learn Crunch though which is odd.
