Bought this after reading IGNs review a couple of weeks back
Won't go into too much detail but it's basically puzzle quest, albeit a little simpler and with a different combat mechanic. Still has the same appeal for me though.
For combat (which is pretty much all there is to it) there's a 5x5 grid, which initially has the centre 3x3 section laid out with playing cards. You and your opponent draw hands of 4, and take it in turns to lay 2 card at opposite edges to form poker hands. You do damage based on the quality of your hand. It makes more sense once you play it!
There's then different weapons, shields, magic to add various effects and layers of strategy.
I didn't really know what hands did what in poker, but picked it up easily (there's in-game help to explain things too) so that part is no problem.
Was "on sale" at ?1.19 when it came out, may still be...
