I shall await the wrath of the banhammer
On a more serious note, how does the download business work in this? I am only about 6 hours in and probably not up to scratch to fight a big boss thing, am I right in thinking I could download it and fight it later when I meet the grade? Is there any (real) benefit to the tag mode stuff too?

Hi all
My 6 year old son really wants this game after seeing the jedtwat advert. His reading isn't the best at the moment but he picks games up pretty quickly. i.e. can play wow better than a lot of adults I know lol
How much would he be able to play this without being able to read properly?
Thanks in advance

if he can play WoW (although the latest patches for WoW do heavily lead you around visually), he can play this.
It's worth mentioning that there are sections of the game where lots of characters speak with accents that may be confusing to someone barely able to read.
It is a very text heavy game though

Got this today for about 15 quids. My first Dragon Quest game ever, and so far I'm liking it tons. Only a couple of hours in, but the freedom and lack of hand-holding in this game is really refreshing. Near the very start of the game I'm simply placed in a village without instructions. I'm just leisurely wandering about, talking to NPCs, grabbing stuff of the ground, doing whatever I want, loving it! The premise is also very cool, being a angel-like guardian for a village where the belief in me is dwindling.

Just started playing this today after having it on "the pile" for a year or two; initial half-hour impression... It's very "by the numbers", isn't it? JRPG-wise I mean.
Toriyama art style, weird pseudo-viking mythology storyline, standard turn-based battling, top-down view...
EDIT: I see people in the thread praising the co-op play. Maybe I should track down a second copy to play it with my lass? Is it entirely co-op, start-to-finish, no compromises?Last edited by Asura; 23-06-2014, 07:04.
