Kern you can explore just let the missions count out

Let the case files run out of time and that will stop the main story line and the game will continue until you are rescued in the 75 hours when help arrives, the only thing that will happen is that overtime won't start and as long as you've saved Katy you will or should get a good ending of sorts. I never had a problem with the way the original saved and I don't have a problem with this one

You will have to play it through multiple times anyway if you wanted to achieve everything, the genocider trophy will take 3 days play time to get without doing anything else and youve also got to find all clothing and all weapons to use so exploring is one of the best bits of the game, only seen a football and beach ball in a couple of locations

I'm not bothered about the unlimited mode, when I did the last one when I got the seven day survivor achievement I just let the zombies kill me
The total number I guess must be just over 50. The original had 53 survivors if I recall once you included yourself and Isabella.

I thought I'd nailed the save 50 survivors achievement because my notebook said I'd had like 57 people saved in total. It doesn't actually include the 'freebie' survivors that wind up in the save room from the very beginning, just ones you actually intervene in saving.

Neither do I, the thing about autosaving with this is it would be entirely possible to break your game and leave you with no chance of getting to the main story case files in time if you decide to do them too late. I just view Dead Rising as a sort of cross between a Roguelike and Groundhog Day, if you f*ck up, you f*ck up, but next time you play you'll have a better understanding of the game and how to approach things.

Not sure how many survivors are in this as it's a bit hard to follow unless your really keeping track as some of the people in your notebook are already in the safehouse when the game starts. I know that when I finished my first playthrough I had 20 blanks left and that was after doing all the case files I was given as well as the odd 1 or 2 that didn't show as case files, the rest must be made up of survivors that only show when your in the right place at the right time, I still haven't managed to find

        yet.

Well, I ran out of time for one of the quests, when you're trying to prove you're innocent 2-x or something and it just gave me a game over! So I'm just worried which I can let go, to be honest I think I'll just peg it through this time and worry about having fun and exploring next time, I dunno. I haven't got a chance on any of the bosses though, every one I've come across has just handed me my ass.

The main story quests are always at the top of your case list, so I'd always go for them first if your worried about time, every other case is listed in order of time scale as well so just work from the top. Most bosses you can run away from if you need to pick up some extra supplies, they should still be there when you come back assuming the timer hasn't run down.

I take it when their timer has run down, are they still there for you to beat or is it just too late then?

I'd just let the save go and try to save as many survivors as possible, not related to psychopaths, to try and level up. I started a second playthrough last night on level 33, and all the early psychopaths I've come across have fallen very easily.

If you're finding your food items aren't packing much of a punch, there's a health book at the news stand in Royal Flush Plaza near the save room, and another inside the bar in the Yucitan Casino. Makes your food go that much further for you, though at the expense of two inventory slots.

Think you've read it wrongly pal

You get an option to carry on or restart with current pp etc

Currently case 6-2 and not really finding it that hard, the timings are massive and I don't really see how you can fail them

But the shortcut might help slot and the fact I've played the original
And used to how and what I have to do

So far the only missions I've failed are:
                  Motorbike with chainsaws tir contestant
Guy with the hostage in the toilet
Another survivor who asked me to look for her companion

Only didn't do them due to the bosses being a pain at my current level and I couldn't be bothered looking for the other survivor, even smashed the snipers, one was really easy and the other was tougher

Otherwise it's alright but playing this on xbox360 and still waiting for my ps3 version

                    Still no

                    Snowflake

                    for me either

Must be a separate mission that's not listed like the snipers

The only bosses that caused me a couple of problems where the 'gimp' and toy shop boss

                    Beat the gimp by

just levelling up and equiping nail bats and having steak to eat, that extra block of health sorted it right out

                    and the toy shop by

using the water gun and when he does grab you just getting out of the mask and letting him run into a wall which will cause him to be stunned for a bit

                    It's a really good game and I gave it a 9, it hasn't disappointed

Get to do it all again when I start it on ps3

got the deluxe guide book of amazon for ?13 - great resource and so much stuff i missed on my first two playthroughs.

gonna start mopping up and exploring for real this weekend, starting with resuce 50 surviors, escort 8 and get the last few combo cards.

                      here goes.

@buster broon, the toy shop boss, is that Slappy?, easiest way I found with him

was just do a jumping kick which would put him on his arse, you can then go up and hit him a few times before he gets up, he then goes into a spin shooting flames, stay out the way and once he's finished run back in and do another jump kick and repeat,

managed to do him in just over a minute with that method.

The psychopaths in the game are unbearable, the last but one boss especially. The only way to defeat them is to be cheap yourself. The window of invinicibility on some of them is plain rediculous.

On my second playthrough i'm just using the Knife Gloves (Boxing Gloves + Bowie Knife) which make short work of all the Psychopaths including the second to last one, their pretty much the equivalent of the mini chainsaw in DR1.

On level 17 and met the two sexy ladies, christ we got owned, especially as the mission timer was still running. I think I'm going to have to tackle the psychos on the 2nd playthrough, but these two were part of the main story.
