    Any improvements to Manager Mode?

I think they have rebuilt it. It's simple, but works well. If you're looking for depth, you won't find it here. It's streamlined, well presented and gets straight to the point. For example, if you're interested in a player, you declare your interest with a bid and you'll be told by your scout (a mock email service) whether or not a transfer is possible.

You can start the mode as either a player, manager or player manager.

The amount of money you start with depends on which club you go. Go with Real Madrid or Barca and you'll have a nice fat purse. There's also a board room difficulty. This will affect your starting money slightly and will higher or lower their end of season expectations. You will be rewarded with more monies depending on where you finish at the end of the season.

It reminds me of the Master League on PES, but with a more straight-to-the-point transfer aspect.

One thing that lets it down, and it's a bloody big noticeable one at times, is the waiting between screens with saving and day/week calculating when advancing. Found myself sitting twiddling thumbs for a few minutes on occasion.

I've started as a player in career mode, hope to go to player manager then manager.

A real mind-f*** though, playing as your pro in a game kicking down the pitch as the radar is reversed so shows you going up the pitch....

Master League in PES2011 > Manager mode in FIFA 11.

Also agreed with you on the saving, it needs fixing asap.

Online team play/clubs is pretty broken at the moment. I know it'll sort itself out, this has happened for the past 3 games during the first few days, but it's frustrating all the same

Do they still have the irritating stadium cutscenes for substitutions?

Nope, you get a tv-syle close up of a player on the field, far less atmosphere breaking

It's a shame that the cut-scene played gets repetitive quick. Players running up the pitch, turning and facing, then running on. Would of liked a bit of variation there.

Also, the crowd noise seems to fade to zero during substitutions.

Still beats looking at the roof of the stands though Really enjoying this so far, it's the first time with a FIFA game where I'm actually not wishing I was playing PES instead. It's not drastically different from 10 but all the little tweaks and improvements have made everything click together for me.

I'm a bit gutted the creation centre isn't quite what I thought it was though. I thought you were able to make teams for online Clubs and was really looking forward to making some snazzy kits for my team

The servers are being reset I believe, wouldn't be too disheartened yet.

That said, it may have been yesterday that they were reset!

Indeed, there's something to be said for PES, where they don't even bother with a substitution animation.

Been playing as a defender now for a fair while in Career for Juventus and my team mates (the AI) have proven to me that they are dollop. Running with the ball until they run into the opposing team and lose it. The odd time a through ball will get through, but my attackers either decide to dribble into the goalie, do a poncey trick, or just be sh*t.

Also, why do they need to do tricks in lots of one on one situations. It's like watching a team of Nani.

I'll stick with it, so I can build up my character, but I'm starting to feel that doing a career as a defender and probably a GK, is going to be a boring frustrating time due to the dumb AI.

It saddens me as I love the game's front end, graphics and general gameplay, but EA has talked up this Personality+ feature and I'm seeing it as, "a playing who has an overall of 80+, then he will do tricks when on the ball". Probably end up just sticking to playing online.

Going to play some one-on-one before I swear loudly

What, in PES there's no sub animation? There was when I last played it. Although, you sometimes see your "manager" during them too and he is some generic old man from a dodgy porno

Has anyone tried the iPhone version? It's only £2.99 but it's 850 odd meg and I don't have free space for it. Wondering if it's worth deleting some files for it

Every sub I've made it has just happened and comes up on screen showing you who has gone off and came on. Kinda fade to black quick and back up, and it's happened.

They're defo in there, I have seen them and to be honest, if they're few and far between then that's just fine and dandy.

I've never understood why you only occasionally see the subs in PES, it's been that way for years

                                edit:

Hoolak, i don't know why you're suffering through the Be A Pro mode, just stick your Pro player in a team and build up your character in the normal modes. I've got my Robbie Fowler pro up top for Liverpool again, Nando is on the bench
