    Comic Jumper

Regardless of what anyone thinks of the gameplay I have to imagine that this will go down with many as one of the funniest games ever made, as its an increadabley amusing little title.

Twisted Pixel seem to be now known for making quite polished downloadable titles so its no suprise this is no different, the voice acting is awesome and the comic book presentation is really well done, the way they use it in some of the levels is very cool. However graphicaly i dont feel its quite as good looking as Splosion man, but maybe thats becuase its just more visualy ambitious so it ends up showing the limitations of its low production values slightly more.

The gamplay is whats most important though i suppose and this is a bit of a mixed bag I feel, but still a very enjoyable one. Although theres quite a bit of variety to it a large segment of the game is run and gun style gameplay that is split up by short semi-onrails type sections, I have to wonder if the developers are big fans of the games of Treasure becuase it all comes across as a very comical mix of Gunstar Heroes and Sin and Punishment, not that thats a bad thing. It has to be said though that the on rails bits arent exactly mind blowing and infact there are certain instances were obstacles are virtualy impossible to avoid as the camera dosent let you see them until they hit you in the face. The side scrolling bits are much better though and are alot of fun, its quite a challenging game but much like the game I feel it takes its inspiration from there are plenty of checkpoints so it never feels too hard.

Outside the main game there seems to be lots of replay value in earning cash through its increadabley tough challenge missions (where one hit kills you and ends the challenge) and its fun just walking around the main hub and listening to all the great characters funny dialogue.

Overall there is alot to like about it, even though a large chuck of that is down to the fact that its full of so many funny moments (for instance the

    fat Conan type guy

is genius) and I have to recommend it just for that alone really.

I have only played the intro level, ran around the base and quick go on Nanoc level, funniest game I have played in a long time, cheeks were actually getting sore.
    When

the FMV came up of the kid who then buries the comic in sandpit I was in stitches and the guy on the toilet who runs out of toilet paper then looks at the Captain Smiley comic, pricelss. Calling apon Twisted Pixel for help on Nanoc and the guy headbutting the screen, superb use of FMV

Also when you look at The Maw arcade and Smiley says

Awwww The Maw I love that game and Star replies the devs ripped people off buy clearly selling DLC that should have been in the original game, simply awesome

Really enjoyed the first section gets things off to a cool start and the lines are actually funny it's Twisted Pixel man they can do NO WRONG!
I bow to them, never has 1200 points been spent so easily with no regrets.
    I give it 1/10.....cough.

Sounds nifty. Will check the trial out. Seems to come with a load of free 'goodies' including avatat, themes, gamerpics and extra Splosion Man stages if the description on the Marketplace is accurate.

Yeah lots of free stuff, so far I have unlocked an Avatat Star shirt and 2 gamerpictures (1 Smiley and 1 Star)
You buy them with cash you earn in-game as rewardables/collectables.

Its absolutly hilarious and full of charm. I've already bought all the stuff in the collection (make sure you read all the descriptions, its worth it), just playing through the game now. It can get a bit monotonous in areas, i think some parts are just longer than they should have been. I think they should have put some more beat em up bits i think if might have given it a bit more variation.

Loving it though, one of the funniest games i've played in years. Those Twisted Pixel guys have a great sense of humor, they keep getting better with each title.

Theres a part where Smiley is admiring a poster of himself and Star says to him, you just look like an Emoticon on Steroids. I lol'd hard.

I'm loving it. Got the trial and without a second thought, bought the full game. So funny and I'm loving the game play. Something old skool for us old farts yet modern enough to appeal to the younger player. I've got to say it's the best downloadable game I've bought in a very long time. far more entertaining that Hydro....err, you know the one with the awful voice acting and odd controls.

If you haven't already or anyone else, do give The Maw and 'Splosion Man a shot. Both brilliant games with the same charming humor.

Man this is amazing, it's a real comedy genre game.

The game itself is a bit tedious, but its worth it to see the next cutscene or dialog. Sone really funny surprises

Just finished it, loved it to bits. Will go back to it once they have fixed the "He Ain't Even Married" achievement.

Funniest game ever. just like Splosion Man there are some wicked film geek references. Contemplate this on the Tee of Woe.

                            "What're yer buyin'?"

Best of all is Captain Smiley looming up in the camera when he's comic jumping just like Ash in Evil Dead 2. Plus you jump comics staright out of Timecop.
