Has anyone managed to beat the tactical challenges yet? Any of them?

I managed to get up to round 5 in the first (which appears to be the easiest, I think), but only just. I kept thinking 4 had to be the last. I was down to my last few drops of ammo, and those rocket robots had me pinned. When i saw that another formed after that, I literally lost all will to live.

If the Earth were ever invaded by robots Terminator style, I'd be useless.

I've only completed challenges 1 to 3 but heard that 4 and 6 are reet swines.
Anyway a tip, you tried boost cancelling? essentially exiting out of a boost with the roll. You'll have some frames of invincibility when entering the boost, and you'll gain a little more when you exit out of the boost. Perform this consistantly enough and the boost meter won't drain away and instead you gain some boost meter :/

As seen by this guy here: [Spoiler alert]

I think I'm on my 10th playthrough of this. It's just so damn satifying to play as there is barely any downtime in it. Even when it does change the pace a little it's not for long as you're back to your kill rooms.

Hey Jimtendo, what button is it to cancel out of boost? Melee or cover button? I noticed with envy last night you've got some incredible scores up on the leaderboards, by the way.

          It'll be the X (PS3) or A (360) to cancel out.
Those scores are only on Casual difficulty though, as I wanted to tinker about without dieing in an instant and to make some sort of understanding on what other variables (other than headshots and a quick stage time) consitute in a high score.

Ah, the evade button. Makes sense. I'm sure I saw you got the world's hi-score on stage 2-4/5 or something, on normal difficulty? Can't be too many jimtendo-sans...

              Oh aye, thats me.
It's strange though as on some others where I'm in the 200/300/400 rank brackets with scores a good few thousand below the top 10. I just can't seem to figure out where all those points are, even finishing with the time bonus >.<

Started this tonight, and it's absolutely f'ing brilliant. Had a crap first experience in the demo but vowed not to let that put me off (I had a similar experience with Bayonetta, which then ended up my GOTY), so very glad I didn't.

Fast paced, no-nonsense, action heavy, technical, tricky but never cheap, just ohhh god it's fantastic. Can't wait for my next chance to get an evening alone with this. Also, me in buying *and* getting to play a Sega game before it's heavily discounted - shocking scenes.

Started it a few days ago as well and completely agree. Its just so damn exciting to play. Ninja Gaiden II was the last game to put me in control of someone capable of tearing it up like Gideon can.

Just did the 2nd act now, slightly impaired by the fact I can barely hear, but still absolutely brilliant. Loving the set pieces, and also pretty much everything else in this

Finished it last night - what a stunning game. Not an ounce of flab on it, just pure concentrated awesomeness from start to end. The only thing I would change is

the last boss. A very enjoyable battle but slightly anti-climatic considering some of the previous battles and set pieces.

                        A very minor nag really.

Jumped right back in with another run through on normal to further explore some of the weapons that I hardly used first time around before attempting hard/ god hard modes.

GOTY contender no doubt. I'd put it slightly behind Bayonetta at the moment but repeated playthroughs may change my mind. Either way - Platinum Games

Finished last night and thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish.

Didn't actually play the demo but the trailer impressed and Mikami hasn't let me down in the past. Found the 1st act rather bewildering controlwise plus with the audio/visual overload it was a bit much but as the game progressed I began to understand the risk/reward of cover and boosting right into the heat of battle.

GOTY for me and reminded me of arcade games of the past, I understand it recieved positive reviews however criticism of the game length is missing the point I feel. Its an exhilariting ride and I look forward to my 2nd playthrough on hard and attempting to climb the leaderboards.

                            The credits though

Finished it just now, a solid 8/10. Great game. There wasn't really a dip at any part I can think of. The bosses at the end were a little tricky especially the .. well you know.

Pretty annoyed it didn't have a solid ending, but it was great overall.

I knew he wouldn't let me down, he did have a lot to do with RE1 which is my favourite game of probably all time, so woo!
