    Blacklight Tango Down Demo PS3

Downloaded this from US PSN. $15 for full game.

Played online deathmatch game and it is another COD FPS clone, but poorly made.

Was bored after 2 mins due to the low quality of shot detection, poor graphics etc. The game looks bland and like it was made by apprentice designers.

There are many more much better FPS games out there

Tried this out ages ago on the 360 when it came out and it seemed good to me.

For a downloadable title its very polished and plays well.

I didnt buy it though simpley becuase online gaming isnt really my thing and I like single player games and this is clearly multiplayer focused, but it seemed well done to me.

I dont think its a COD clone its more counter strike, HL2 deathmatch with some killzone and other 1st gen shooters, its not bad, rather good in a crap way, something i like about it even though it looks PS2 graphics and such, not sure how big a community there could be , with COD BO coming out.

There's still a strong community of regulars who play this. Things it does much better than CoD:

-Lag, no awful unfair deaths due to different game state.
-Balanced ranking unlocks, a rank 1 player stands a fair chance against rank 70, unlike the recent CoD.
-Level design, the maps are intricate and carefully laid out with excellent connectivity.

As rmoxon said though there's no reason for a solo player to pick it up. Personally I found the near future, dystopian aesthetic very appealing. One of the best team-based competitive FPS games in years.

What a big community on 360? When is it coming to PS3 in the UK. And do you think their could be a big community on PS3, im not sure, i like the sci-fi future settings and the visor to see enemies is cool, just would hate to shell out and find nobody playing.

Ah yes sorry forgot to clarrify I was referring the to 360 community there. No idea how it's doing on PC or PS3. I'd be surprised if it did any worse on the PS3 though. I've seen plenty of people on 360 playing day in day out regardless of the fact they've 100%ed all the achievements.

The game's ****ing awful and one of the worst XBLA purchases I've ever made, and I got Yaris for free. I really regret buying this tripe.

The gunplay's **** and very unsatisfying, the maps only have one spawn point for each side so it always without fail turns into a 'rush the spawn point' game and whoever gets to which side first just sits outside and camps. Levels are bland and not that interesting. The only thing it did remotely half decently was the legalised wall hack in your visor. I wouldn't recommend this to even someone I hated.

It's just dire, avoid like the plague. One of the worst FPS I've played in a long time and easily the worst game I've played this year.

This is false. Spawn areas have turrets so the actual spawning point itself is protected. I can assure you that if a team is stuck at their spawn and unable to break out it is because the other team is simply better than them. Sure I've done this to plenty of teams but every time it has happened to me I have been able to single handidly break out of the cordone, rout the other team and push them back, without the help of teammates. If you're stuck at the spawn, you have no one to blame but your ability at the game.

You say the gunplay is bad but how much time did you spend customising your weapon parts?

Sure you'd make your way out eventually but everytime you got killed you'd be right back there with every ****er sitting right outside the spawn at most spots ready to shoot you. Having one spawn point per team is not good design. If it was a bit more open it might be fun to spread the teams out a bit but having everyone on each team centralised to one area for a spawn is ****ing awful regardless. Players are naturally assholes and will take the cheapest option available. Even in objective games they love to hang around your spawn instead of trying to play the game properly.

The above is just for starters though as for the meat of the game, the guns, they are far too floaty. It doesn't matter which part you replace with which they just aren't fun to shoot and don't feel good, the sounds are **** and it's not satisfying to shoot people with them. You take actually good FPS's such as FEAR/FEAR 2/Call Of Duty/BC2 with visceral, meaty weapons and then go to weapons in this game. It's like going from weapons of death to NERF guns.

It's the only game I've ever purchased without trying the trial and also the worst. Terrible in every way and when there are better FPS on the market why would you want to play this, especially when games like Bad Company 2 have dropped to sub £20 level ? I appreciate what they were trying to do for a download game but when compared to other FPS it just doesn't stack up in any way at all. Especially in a genre as competitive as the FPS market.

There is absolutely no reason whatsoever to pick this up. Also, why would you announce just after this came out that you were working on a sequel straight away ? Surely it's going to put people off who might have thought they'd support this for a while before going on to making a sequel.

I apologise for the ranting as I don't really tend to get worked up over games and I'm not meaning to have a go at you, but as a FPS fan never has a game so been disappointing to me and been such a waste of my money when other games deserved it a lot more. Even worse, I can't trade it in!

Well as I said I've never had a problem dealing with teams who try and spawn camp. If you can't then it's not bad design, you just need more practice at the game.

At the end of the day you respawn with a full set of gear and health, you can identify their positions before moving out and each spawn has 2-3 entrances which splits their numbers up. You should be tearing them apart in such situations.

I thought it would be an okay alternative to COD. I think this was the market share they where trying to get a bite of and I think they failed. I have to agree with Mr Woo. It's probably not as bad as he makes out but it was still tripe. The maps where terrible, the stupid full screen effects where confusing and made no sense it was just a mess.

And yeah pretty much the only way to win the game was to camp your opposition.
