    Rock Band 3 (various)

I'm typing this with a sore right forearm after a morning session with my son on drums and me showing my multi instrumentalist abilities hopping between guitar & keyboards.

Plus points for the easy way you can hop from one instrument to the other, keeps things moving along nicely.

Game seemed to recognise all or most of my previous DLC and dragged it in, currently got 1.93gb coming down off XBL for the old RB2 stuff, worth mentioning you go into the get music option off the main menu, chosse redeem code and enter the first 16 characters off the back of your old RB2 manual to get this, for 800 pts.

To the game, menus seems a bit messy to an old git like me but getting the hang of it, looks a really big package with a lot to do.

The music itself is the usual Harmonix pick of good tracks with sensible feeling key-maps.

Loving the keyboard but you do need to pick your songs, Need You Tonight by INXS for example says keyboard but you get about 12 notes to play, go onto Everybody Wnats To Rule The World by Tears for Fears though and you get a great RB moment, anthemic song, beautifully mixed and cleaned up and everybody playing a part.

Overall first impressions are very positive and I'm glad I've skipped all the guitar hero releases and waited for the folks who invented the genre to come back to it.

Yeah, looks like a massive game and something that you'll get used to over time, because it's gonna be years before you need to replace it.

Imported all my old RB2 songs, and now have 611 available to play

I know there is a bit of marketing speak in there but it does feel like you are getting a whole music platform, not just a game with 80 odd songs.

Immediate thoughts on dlc that needs adding is some Floyd (Comfortably Numb & Shine On You Crazy Diamond) and a bit of rocky Depeche Mode (Personal Jesus or I Feel You)

I'll edit it with the precise number later, but I'll have well over 1000 songs now. I haven't had internet lately either so have a list of downloads still to make.

Really liking the keyboard. Jumped into pro mode - medium and it's kicking my ass

Doing the tutorials now and most have been fine but basic intervals #7 is really difficult just can't manage it. wish there was a video showing finger placement

Hope we can get some more "electronic" music in Rock Band now that the keyboard is out. Haven't bought the game yet. Don't wanna buy until I can get it with one of the new instruments (which are impossible to get a hold off).

What's the best plan for Keyboard? I'm on medium pro and finding it quite difficult but easy is too boring/easy... If I stick with it long enough hopefully I'll get the hang of it

This is amazing, spent ages on it and discovered for the first time the joy of singing

I've been getting ranked top 3 on the leader boards for my Serj SOAD howling, 'when I became the sun I shone light into the man's heart'

This is just so well thought out and put together, just doesn't feel like a collection of songs thrown together but a proper thought out bit of software that the songs get chosen for and placed into.

I've said all along RB is a platform & not a series of duff sequels with specific track listings. The only other game that comes close to this implementation is Singstar but that falls short with it's requirement for disc swapping.

I'm glad to hear keyboards are great. I don't see me picking them up that easy but the missus is an amazing pianist so this should get her on board with me on guitar or drums.

Can someone tell me. Is there an option to save setlists yet? You could create them in RB2 but only on the fly. I'd love to save a handful of favourite tracks for each instrument.

Can't export the RockBand 2 disc songs into 3. Website is down and I can't get a token.

                      Boo!!

EDIT: By unable to export I mean the songs that are on the RB2 disc, not the bonus downloadables.

There is. You can even name them and share them with friends i think

can confirm you can save setlists and as said above share them with friends.

playing on with this really feels like they've perfected the genre, can't see how it can progress that far from this, if it fails to sell then it really does show that the endless Guitar Hero and even the RB band specific packs have killed off interest in the genre.

only annoying point (as ever) is some songs do seem to go on with endless fade outs, just had an Echo & The Bunnymen song that seemed to be on a 3 minute outro, which is frankly tedious.

trying to export my lego rock band songs is anyone having trouble getting the lego rock band token to work , says they have run out on the site doh.

to get all the rb 2 songs do you need to pay 800 points again ?

apart from those problems im loving pro keyboard slowly getting used to it and it feels great when you pull it off

I had the same problem, it then said my code had already been redeemed so I sent them an email.
