I'm typing this with a sore right forearm after a morning session with my son on drums and me showing my multi instrumentalist abilities hopping between guitar & keyboards.
Plus points for the easy way you can hop from one instrument to the other, keeps things moving along nicely.
Game seemed to recognise all or most of my previous DLC and dragged it in, currently got 1.93gb coming down off XBL for the old RB2 stuff, worth mentioning you go into the get music option off the main menu, chosse redeem code and enter the first 16 characters off the back of your old RB2 manual to get this, for 800 pts.
To the game, menus seems a bit messy to an old git like me but getting the hang of it, looks a really big package with a lot to do.
The music itself is the usual Harmonix pick of good tracks with sensible feeling key-maps.
Loving the keyboard but you do need to pick your songs, Need You Tonight by INXS for example says keyboard but you get about 12 notes to play, go onto Everybody Wnats To Rule The World by Tears for Fears though and you get a great RB moment, anthemic song, beautifully mixed and cleaned up and everybody playing a part.
Overall first impressions are very positive and I'm glad I've skipped all the guitar hero releases and waited for the folks who invented the genre to come back to it.
