    Pac Man Championship Edition DX

If you really liked Pac Man Championship Edition but found it to be a bit too hard then this game is probabaly for you.

Its basicaly a super crazy version of that game, yet its actualy easier, becuase time slows down when youre going to get eaten so you can avoid death, and you have bombs.

I'm not sure about Pac-Man having bombs, it dosnet feel right, but besides that this is great, there can be litteraly hundreds of ghosts on the screen at the same time chasing you and then you collect a pill and munch on them all in a big row, getting a big score combo in the process, its quite epic to say the least....

Theres uite a few different levels to unlock (though its worth pointing out that they are just maze variations and seem to all roughly have the same placment of dots and enemies so peoples scores will be roughly the same on every maze. There are loads of different time trials and modes to play around with though, so theres plenty to do here.

Also worth pointing out that its only 800 points, which these days is actualy cheap for a live game, so no reason to avoid it.

Oh yeah and if you want some achievment points, I got the full 200 in under an hour, they are increadabley easy to get.

Enjoyed the trial but don't think it's better than the purer Pacman C.E..

I like the inclusion of the sleeping ghosts and how that changes the gameplay to one of leading as many ghosts as possible around the maze and then exploiting them for huge scores but the bombs feel out of place and dilute the experience. Ultimately I'm not willing spend 800 points on what I feel is an inferior version of a game I already own. But that's just me, from what I've read online many people think this the better game.

I think people would be shouting and swearing too much if there were no bombs... this is a combination of pattern learning and twitch gaming, and if you screw up at high speed (and you will), then a bomb can get you out of your mistake. You get punished a little for using it (reduce speed, less ghosts chasing you) so if you are score chasing, then you will try to avoid using them.

I've been really enjoying it so far, although it's tempered by knowing that it will be paid for by the Microsoft points rebate

I can also say that as according to the front screen of the game, I was ranked 20th in the world overall when I turned the 360 off earlier...

I thought this might be a fairly chilled affair like Hexic or something, but it's more likely to bring on a heart attack!

I've only played the demo so far, but I like the look of some of the unlockables such as the Pac-Mania version of the characters.

As a character, I think I like Pac-Man more than Mario.

          There, I said it.

I think it's from playing Pac-Land as a kid. I loved that game!

I like this so far, but cant imagine it having the same sort of staying power as CE. Now that the ghosts just follow you in a line and the cat and mouse aspect is largely removed a big part of the game is lost for me.

I was well hyped for this, but after playing the trial it seems a little novelty. I may just stick with CE for now.

Yeah it needs the bombs, especially with new sleeping ghosts being generated when a new half of the maze is rendered.

I think it's great. Like really great. Like XBLA GOTY great.

It's very different to CE which is a Good Thing. It's a *new* game based on Pac-Man mechanics and it's a bloody good one at that. I can't stop playing it. Time trials especially. Wheee!

only had a half hour play but really enjoyed it...makes my eyes burn tho

cant score too highly either...about 1.8 mil on 10mins is my best.
not sure wether its best to wake all the ghosts and avoid the power pills til there are loads or get a pill early and try to keep eating and powering up??

Pac-Man has always been a favourite of mine, and somehow they've made it even more addictive, fun, and varied this time. Worth AT LEAST 800 points!

The trick is to have as many following you as possible and dont use a pill till you need too. Concentrate on scoring by colleting dots and fruit until you are forced to collect a pill and then you will be maximisingthe number of ghosts you eat while you have a full multiplier, dont use bombs thugh unless you really need too or it will shorten the chain of ghosts that are following you.

You get the original CE course in the game as well, so much of the original game is present anyhow... and no, the ghosts don't do the following you malarky on it, making my task to beat the default 30 ghost chain mark challenge a might tricky...

my god, never heard of this game, I only tried the demo because I was bored, but damn, I was sold immediately !
This game is incredibly addictive ! it's great for highscore battles. When you're in "the zone" with the music loud and trying to get as many ghost as possible to follow taking risc and then take the pill and rank up that score ! excellent stuff !

I unlocked the original course last night, the way the gameplay is so forgiving makes CE my Pacman game of choice still. Dont get me wrong this is a nice diversion and is still totally addictive and easily worth the 800points, but one thats unlikely to have the longevity of the near-perfect CE which I imagine Ill be playing long after this one is done and dusted.

                              Excellent game this.

I wouldn't hesitate in recommending it to fans of the yellow muncher - I don't really mind the bombs being present, because the negativity towards your score when you do use one makes them a mute tool of choice. There isn't a necessity to use them which is a key point.

Building up a huge chain of ghosts is were this game is full of win - Choosing the right time to chomp them or to continue bulding is real edge of the seat stuff. Escpecially when the game speed has ramped right up. I actually found myself using the power pills to find a bit of room from the ghosts rather than going for usual chomp and chew tactic.

Of course, when the time is right and you do go for the big chomp, the feeling is very satisfying. I'm sure I have shouted out things such as 'whoop' 'woohoo' and even the odd 'owned' has been thrown in.

It is a lot of fun, but the intensity is there in spades if you wish to play the game with a riskier strategy.

The tunes add to the experience, as of course do the vibrant use of colours - The time trials are fun, more so than I first thought they would be.

I very tidy purchase in my opinion, and as usual with pacman plenty of replayability.
