    Crysis 2 - multiplayer beta [PS3/ Xbox 360]

Had one game at the moment, and it's a bit of a camp fest with players just holing themselves up on the corners of the map (I played the rooftop one) and just abusing the stealth.

First and foremost looks great for the most part, a few framerate hitches here and there when trying to get a decent iron-sights shot on guys could be a bit problematic. I'm just hoping it's just the BETA and will perform a bit better full game.

The mirrors edge skills are great. If only to serve a good way of traversing the environment. Knee sliding & shooting is always fun. Vanquish taught me that.

I'm not quite sure of the level cap as of yet.

Played a few games now and won my first match, starting to learn to run in using Armour rather than Stealth as soon as you fire a weapon your stealth is literally gone out the window.
Really like sliding and jumping high across things, is pretty good fun.
Map isn't too bad but as jimtendo said most people are always outside, in corners or as I found inside the green houses invicible, oh and the kill cam shows a HELL of a lotta people just shooting from the hip whilst jumping, which is annoying. Does have a team game feel to it, reckon if you squad up with some mates you could kill everyone you play against pretty much.
Looking forward to the single player more MP but this will be a good addition to play alongside it.
Seems to have a lot of unlocks, dog tags and stuff to keep the metagame fans happy.
    Nice intro MP video.

Tried this earlier and whenever I shot someone there was always someone else ready to tag me in the back. I don't know if the map is too small or what, but it felt futile. Yay gotcha! Gah, I'm dead. Repeat.

Cleary I was doing something wrong because the game winners got 20 kills 4 deaths.

As for the visuals, the excessive amount of low polygon foliage waving around looked daft, but the rest looks nice. "Let's cram as many water features in as possible chaps!"

I just played and died alot, I notice that you don't start with anything other than standard equiptment so I imagine that after a few games it'll be easier to find a CClass that you prefer. I unlocked 1 more after one game.

I agree with charles. Everytime I killed someone I was like "wooo!!", then got capped from behind from someone shooting from the hip. Probably cos of the small map tho.
I jumped over the edge too many times from sheer excitement & wanting to keep that parkour feeling going.

Nice to see Southpaw controls. I was worrying about that as EA seem to not bother most of the time.

I think I need to give it more time to get to grips with it tho.

I'm also downloading Bulletstorm right now, so we'll see which is better.

I dunno whether I'm just pap but I seem to be losing a lot of head to head confrontations It seems like it has to be a headshot to put people down properly.
It's quite difficult to know if you've put them down to because the txt that pops up is hard to see. Apart from that I think it's great!

strange - i've experienced two game freezes already while waiting for a match... otherwise this is exactly what i've played at gamescom and i like it - especially how fast and fluidly you can climb and jump your way through the map. still have to figure out the controls and suits functions - these are crucial for making kills and surviving on close combat.

I really enjoyed the demo, TDM was the best as crash site had loads of campers just waiting for you to cap it. I like how you can do cloak and armour but really need to watch your energy, also also down on the d pad turns on your nano suit and you can see in IR ala predator, also enjoy the free flowing movement like Mirrors Edge, gunning and running has never been so much fun. The graphics look great and everything ran as smooth as a baby's bum, take note Treyarch/Activision.

I fear the game I just played is different to the one you lot are playing, in all but name at least.

After loads and loads of connection attempts, I finally got a few games in. Reminded me of playing Haze. Graphics and game engine are very below-par (is this final code? / is the SP game using the same engine?). The pop-up is possibly the worst I have ever seen in a current gen title.

Too many headshots and one hit kills (trust me this will wear thin very quickly!).

Maybe I missed the point of this game. Of course you can do a lot of other tricks and traits you can't do in other games, such as in the movements. But I was led to believe this is a massive A+ title coming to the consoles, all I experienced was something very average. Overall a massive disappointment, given its hype.

you talk about the CryEngine 3 - supposedly the most advanced game engine today.

so, yes, it seems you downloaded a different game

This is one of those games that I suspect will divide opinion but after a few games I'm very intrigued by what the SP holds. Multiplayer wise it was fun but grew old fast, peeps will moan about comments like this but it reminded me why CODs so popular. It's pretty in a sub-killzone kind of way. I hate the motion blur and the framerate is solid but nothing special. The map was good too had it been in another fps. Based purely on MP, good but not amazing.

A massive download too, for the game engine and one level. (1.8GB!!). Does this mean it will come on about x4 DVD's?

Also loathe the fact that the MP characters swear a lot. Regardless of the age rating on the box, they know damm well 8 year olds will be playing this, and NPC's running around say **** all the time isn't helping anyone. I hated this in BF:BC2 also, seems to becoming a bit of a trend.
