completed all quests in appr. 70 hours and played as female Hawke warrior. absolutely loved the game! i bought it dirt cheap for my 360 and didn't expect it to be this good. definitely not as good as Origins in terms of variety (yes, here is lots of repetition of maps) but with some nice story arcs and excellent dialogue and voice acting. also very nice characterization - you truly care for your characters. i don't recall many RPGs that achieved this. i suggest any fan of DA: Origins should give it a try.

i just wish there was a NG+ mode and better priced DLC.

      Rise from your grave..

After putting it off for years I went back to where I had stopped just before the Deep roads bit. I enjoyed the game a lot as the story just about held up for me and I enjoyed all the little nods to my Warden Elf Rouge.

As for the gameplay, it was alright... much faster and a lot of dense mob chaos compared to origins so never I felt the need for tactics outside a couple of boss fights where played the warrior sword'n'shield tank.. completely invincible with high armour and Magic def, unless my min/maxed mages got smashed with there little HP . As far as other gameplay choices the reuse of areas is a bit crap and im sure quest arrow pointer just stopped working after the 3rd time jump. I also somehow completely missed the Isabella character which im abit miffed about... didn't realise she was playable character until I came across a armour upgrade and I thought i'd done nearly every quest going.

Now down the story bits I didn't enjoy,

I think my first gripe is Bethany's death which felt poorly done and from reading a wiki after finishing the game I would have never taken Anders(annoy git) in the game party with Beth as main healer, to save her. Fenris felt undeveloped compared tot he rest so never used him outside his personal quests, Avaline was the tank which I choose to play so never used her (again outside of personal quests) I think it was something to do with that massive chin.

Which gave me Varris/Mirrel and Anders as my default party, and the end choice where Anders blew up the chantry, I would have made him pay for his crimes(while still siding with the mages, despite "O" having killed mother) if I had another healer in party, felt i had to for the sake of finishing the game keep that stupid git alive with no replacement.

      Looking forward to DA3
