The tactical defending is deffinitley going to take some getting use too, especically if youre use to using the pressure button alot in the last game.If you attempt to play like that now it just doesnt work.

I do prefer the new system though, it opens up alot more options to the player and along with the new impact engine and physics the whole thing just feels alot more realistic and also more fun, ive already had quite a few crazy moments in the penalty box, it just feels like a much more exciting game than last years.

More improvments I have notice to manager mode are that you now get to take part in the transfer deadline day and watch as the hours count down. This is a big improvment becuase in the last game you would often not manage to sign players just becuase they didnt sign a contract in time and the transfer just seemed to be forgotten.

As far as online goes, The head to head seasons mode is great, it really gives you somthing to aim for with your online matches and also means that people will rarley ever quit a match becuase they always want the points.

Sorry to ask but is the PC version of FIFA2012 exactly the same as the console versions this year or is it still lagging behind like previous years? I remember reading that this year would be the same, but that was ages ago and haven't seen it confirmed since. Thanks!

True, but if you want to play H2H seasons, I believe it is locked to Tactical Defending only. Legacy is open to Friendly online play.

I'm waiting for my copy which has been shipped from Play Asia. Sounds like it's going to be a good year for Fifa fans along with Street coming out sometime this year.

Wonder if there is going to be a patch with Tevez out of the CITEH squad by the time I load this up?

Watched IGN's video review yesterday and it was postively glowing where the H2H seasons and defensive system was concerned.

I didnt realise the old defensive "pressure" system was still available in the configuration which means those stalwarts who have been outraged by new model can still play it that way if they want to. To me I have found the change over to the new system very difficult but I can see how it can offer a better level of play and therefore I am commited to evolve.

You've also got to give EA credit for taking steps like this to change core mechanics for what they perceive to be major improvements. Given they get criticised for just releasing the same game every year you've got to respect the development team adding such major things this year... whether you like them or not.

My copy hasnt turned up yet but glad to hear it's impressing you.

The Head-to-head Seasons online system is great. Really like how it's presented and how you have to make a certain amount of points within so many games.

Got a good few hours on this today as its been out to download early with EA sports season ticket thing for the last few days.

First impressions are that im very impressed. The demo really didnt do the game justice and any reservations people have about the new defensive system will be out of the window after the first match, virtualy all the games I have had so far have been full of exciting incidents, this is an absolubtley brilliant representation of football.

Im also impressed with the new manager/career mode as well, They have added virtualy all the stuff I wanted in previous games. Other teams now make offers for your players, you can get youth scouts and even a youth squad, there are pre match interviews (though i am yet to work out how they effect the game) and lots of other new features that really add to the experience. I'm not sure about players develop this year though (as in the last game it was a slow and frustrating process that didnt even make much sense), so I guess we will come back to that later.

Had a couple of games online, no problems so far, I'm still working out the menus to be honest, it all looks a bit different this year.

Overall I have to reiterate how impressed I am with this, In fact I dont think I have been so impressed since FIFA got good again about 5 years ago.
