Had to share this as its one of the best indie games I've played in a while, the basic idea is is its a fantasy game crossed with breakout and graphically it nails the 16 bit super nes look and sound perfectly, the nearest thing you can compare it to is puzzlequest.
you start off in a destroyed town and can wander about and talk to the towns folk and donate money to help rebuild there town, its all top down like zelda and is very reminiscent of its look. when leaving the town you are presented with a map screen which let's you select where you would like to go this takes you into different themed breakout stages each map point contains 12 stages working up to a boss, the twist is you can alter the ball with magic and there are enemys wandering around the screen. the main idea is to collect coins in these stages so you can rebuild the town.
I've never been a massive fan of breakout but the puzzle quest style hook interested me and I spent most of the eve playing this, its very addictive. The ball physics and paddle speed seem good and I got through the first two locations with minimal loss of life. The only issue I have had is that all 12 stages of each map point must be completed in one sitting which takes about half an hour but you get a lot of lives and you can can continue 3 times before it kicks you back out of the map.
anyway go have a play on the trial and the full game is only 240 points, giant bomb where also saying in there quick look that the artist who did the graphics for this was the same one who did the sprites for the Scott pilgrim game.
