I've gone a bit cold on this. The tackling niggles me the most, I think.

I was discussing this with friends recently whilst we were all gathered around a pc displaying classic footy game footage on YouTube. We all felt that the fun you had with the older, less "realistic" footy games was a laugh due to it not being too complicated. Whilst we all still enjoy playing Fifa or Pes, competitively, the games seem to come with an added dimension of stress and frustration.

Agreed... But surely that is due to the migration from arcade to simulation?

I honestly think FIFA12 is the best football game to date but equally I find it's the most frustrating. As a result I picked this up recently and I find it a breathe of fresh air because even though it's still has it's moments it just seems so much more accessible.

It is. Simulation is adding stress, frustration and less laughs. Ah, the innocent old days where we didn't expect much

I won my first exhibition game. 2-0. Finding it quite difficult, but I'll stick at it.
          Kept you waiting, huh?

Started Master League (offline) the other day and really enjoying it.

Downloaded and painfully copied over the GTM Pro Option files which makes my Liverpool (Ordaz, Lothar, Dodo etc) start in the Championship, seeking for Prem promotion. The new youth system has sprouted me a new star for my first team: Shimizu from Japan. A Honda clone who banging them in week in week out.

The option file really boost the experience, aesthetically.

Saving the pennies for next season. Good stuff.

Just out of interest, anyone tried the Ps2 version of this game?

I might sound like a broken record but PES6 is still the best. Online, still awesome today.
