Well I'd like to be able to show my newly learned combos off online, like I did in my Rufus days. Sadly.,the beat em up genre has become niche amongst my circle of friends, on-couch gaming usually results in footy games or shooters.

That sounds like any fighting game fan on here then eh?

Will play you online sometime if you're not too busy looking after the kid. Tis leading up to Christmas though admittedly :P

Had a quick blast on this after a quick go on UMVC3. This game however different is leaps and bounds superior. Production values, gameplay etc. I am in love!

This game arrived a few days ago from Game.co.uk in their sale, just got round to putting some time into it and I'm really enjoying it! So far I've unlocked all the story mode scenes, tested out quite a few of the teams and characters and had a quick bout online (Played one game against the guy ranked 98th in the world and beat him!)

I'm a pretty big King of Fighters fan and have the whole series on the Neo Geo:



This is a very old pic I had to hand, obviously have the Jap versions of 2002 and 2003 to go with them

I wouldn't say I'm particually good at any of the games to a Pro standard at all, but I do very much enjoy them and this one is another great addition to the series, I have all but King of Fighters XII (Never played it even but the reviews were not good and I enjoy the story modes in each which this didnt even have!) but in this one I seem to able to play well with alot of the teams and characters which makes the game more fun, in the Street Fighter series I pretty much only play as Ken unless I'm just messing around, in this however I like to switch up the characters and teams because theres alot of good ones to play as..

I've got this on 360 by the way and would be up for playing a few games if people are interested, as I said I'm not overly good so don't expect too much, I had enough trouble getting through the Gauge Tutorial trying to pull off the NEO MAX Super Special moves

Congrats on your collection, Olly. I have 94 to 99 on NeoGeo CD. Not as impressive

Most of my peripherals are in storage at the moment as I'm in the middle of moving house, so playing this on the Dual Shock isn't much cop. My goodness those trials are tough!

Well picked this up over the Christmas sale, but all I can say is at least it's better than XII, it's still a bit of a car crash of a game, you only need to play 94 -99 to know why.

Least the gameplay is now fully intact and all characters have their moves back, still a lot of problem new characters are all very badly animated, yuri has a freakest size large head, king, terry, billy and the new characters look terrible. Mai also appears to have saggy boobs.

Again there is also lighting issues with half the characters having black lighting on them and just looking very dark, bosses just look and play awful too. Online is also SNK usual laggy unplayable mess.

On the plus side it does play well and two player fighters are pretty good, combo system work well and better than SF4, but it still stuffers from some problems, just as long as you don't mind the terrible character art and avoid characters made after 2000. That said it's much better than UMVC3, which is total crap and unbalanced ****.

I was never a big KOF fan - I felt they always played very clunky; but this isnt bad. Lovely backdrops, but the character graphics are a real mixed bag and the resolution on character zoom is woeful and clearly upscaled from something pretty low. Tried it online and got my ass handed to me - I was matched against guys wayyy better than me (infact in 3 games, i used all 3 characters to their 1 and still lost). Also 1 guy just kept rinsing and repeating this 10 hit combo that totally destroyed me (infact i couldnt even get a hit in).

not fun, so offline for me....

11 days i've been waiting on my copy, i'm going to assume it's lost in the post.

If there's no sign of it by Friday i'll have to order another. Shame, as i'm desperate to try it and have modded a brand new HRAP in anticipation.
