Not being able to try it means we can never be sure, but I'm fairly sure that the speed trap tests (certainly the early ones) would be vunable - just compare the AC against any of the other cars in that class for the speed trap.
I think you are right about the Kudos point chanellenges, these seem to suit less powerful cars - however the first couple of the classes would be much easier with a powerful rear wheel drive car.
The bulk of my comment was addressed to the race itself, again I use the AC as an example, once you have mastered its handling the other cars do not stand a chance on all but the shortest, twistest track.

Mine arrived on Friday (Amazon with the free delivery!). Played it most of the weekend (when opportunity allowed).
On the Muscle Car Series currently with the Corvette Stringray. Not quite the advantage the Cobra had in its class but able to overtake most of the cars on the start.
Overall I am enjoying the game though I can live without the "suicidal" AI cars which can be a total pain at times! Due to that I had to resort to a Steel medal on one race. At least I had a bit of a lead at that level and was able to get more Kudos points. Kudos points and trying to stay ahead of the opposition seems to be tricky to say the least and in some cases trying for a clean race is optimistic.

Online it is fantastic, especially if playing with a good group of friends. It really is a class game, one of the best online titles yet.
Offline I am not so sure. The AI is ropey - I'm sick to death of getting pitched into spins by those dirty mofo's.
Also, trying to get some of the platinum medals is over the top.
And there is a couple of small bugs that annoy me i.e the understeer bug.

Depends how good you are as to how much you like the single player. If you try it on the harder difficulties and you ain`t that great it will punish you. Try it on a lower difficulty and you should enjoy it alot more. I`m currently half way through the last series at the moment (ultimate) with all golds and a few platinums upto yet. As for the so called understeer bug i haven`t really noticed what people are on about and yes i have read the thread on the bizarre forums and i personally don`t think it is a bug and is more down to peoples driving and a good excuse for them to use for poor performance. It`s that all the stories i`ve heard about it kinda contradict one another.

hmm
I'm purely trying to get platinums, and it is very very hard, I could waltz through it getting silvers, but I don't really want to do that. The trouble is, there is a huge jump in skill needed from obtaining silver to platinum. A bit too much of a jump imo.
As for the understeer bug, I haven't been reading about it. All I can do is pass comment on what has happened to me. It's not so much understeer, it's more like the controller doesn't turn the car in the direction you are pushing the stick...As though there is a failure with the controller maping every now and again. I certainly aint imagining it
