I'm still really enjoying it too (about 12-15 hours), although I have to admit the lore is quite dull tbh, as is it's slow exposition by overly serious and quite poor voice actors. I've encountered comedy English cut-glass accents, Glaswegian welder and lilting Oirish, just waiting for the Welsh to show up now. Plenty of glitches too, especially graphical ones. Got stuck between an npc merchant and a desk after a chat-scene somehow with no previous save and, seeing as I couldn't jump over the desk, I had to pickpocket her to get her to move, then pay a bribe when the cops showed up. Was an expensive shopping trip, that - lol! The combat and gorgeous world make up for a lot of the negatives, though. It just keeps drawing me on quite effortlessly, really, with a bare minimum of brain or indeed hand-eye effort required. Last Story has just landed on my mat, though, so that may divert me somewhat, especially the multiplayer...

Completed the main quest last night (well 2.40am this morning) after finishing all of the Quests in Klurikon and Alabastra (another 25-30 but there are probably 10-15 caves I didn't go in so *shrug* another 10 quests on top of that).
to one element of the final boss. Apart from that bit it's just another game ending.
It's a strong 7 or 8. There are supposed to be some quests that only unlock after you complete the main quest so I'll do those tonight.

On level 26 now and finally heading north. Messed about as master crafter and gems a fair bit but can't say that impressed yet, nice buffs for gems but as u can't break down purple or gold stuff bit of a let down. Games too easy for me on normal. I've died once in 54hrs dispelling. I did all the arena quests at lvl 20 and the board ones with em on reds and walked it. Rogue and mines, bow and roll and juggle = major death. Will roll a Mage on hard next playthru. Great game tho, my fav in last year and there's been some corners. Just relaxing WOW fun :-)

Yea I've heard there's some rebalancing coming m8 and two massive DLC packs. I got some nice stuff last night to smith and gem with and bought some nice premade gems. Got a deadly blade and bow with making and shoved plenty of mana and health regen. Now when I get hit its rare I get hit again before I'm back to full health. I always forget about shield and block as never need it haven't done from start with my class. I've run out of finesse as have about 4 buffs with every ability so still going to stick and just max them and get different armour eventually instead of being 2 classes. That fast roll ability is pants tho, I don't even have it assigned anymore rather mine the crap out of em and frost trap as they come close with arrow hell :-)

The salvage good stuff have started dropping for me now. Built a 101 dagger with major buffs and a gem what nukes everything in sight. Killed a load of reds last night in a group np

I wonder if this game is maybe too relaxing...I think it needs re-balancing or something. I've died only once in 20 hours of normal play. Got cursed or poisoned by something: I wasn't paying attention really but still it would've been useful to be notified and reminded about this on the main game screen (or indeed in the behaviour/demeanour of the onscreen avatar, who looked ticketty-boo!), rather than having to go through 3 menu screens to find out my status. I don't even bother crafting gems, concocting potions or smithing my own kit anymore as I can't see any benefit. I just junk-sell all shards/ingredients/components, equip the best stuff I find, and that gets me through. Got a ton of cash but nothing I need to spend it on to progress in the game at the moment. I'm even impulse-buying stuff to use up cash, like home extensions I don't need. Still enjoying it for being a beautifully realized fantasy world (visually and also musically, certainly not in terms of acting), and the combat continues to look really fancy in a GoW style even though it's not nearly as taxing. Great fun conjuring your own undead 'skeleton man-goat thing' as a minion (Salvatore has a proper word for it). Salvatore's 'lore' is building on the whole into a bunch of sub-Tolkien fluff, although there are occasional inspired bits of poetry, nursery rhymes and song left around here and there to discover, which are really cleverly written. Back to adventure...Last edited by Golgo; 24-02-2012, 17:27.

Normal is way too easy for me and I'd reccomend anyone starting out to play on hard. You can alter it anytime but when I roll another class it will be a hard playthru. I died twice so far in 66hrs both times with dispelling by accident. I think they will do some rebalancing tho and hopefully either add a harder difficulty or give us ?ber tough stuff to fight in dlc. Be pretty easy to just give them more health and more abilities. I don't think doing all the side quests help either as I moved from mines up to woods and there the same level so everything's grey outside. Weird in caves there all yellow or red tho but still a doddle. I've hit level 30 and prob have about 10hrs left. Love it tho apart from these minor gripes, but thats my own fault for not doing hard from the off!

86hrs now and crossed over to other side of map for first time by doing my second story quest. Done about 120 missions. Still really enjoying it but got to stage I get a load of quests skip the text then do em quick as possible. The story ones have really good cutscenes. Just wish it wasn't so easy. I did die twice on last mission so it suprised me but I'm nuking yellows and reds packed in a room as can't be bothered to trap now as its too easy. My rogue is a maxed out death machine as loads of 1 finesses buffs and still only 35. It is an amazing game and kept me off everything, it just needs a bit more tweaking and few more interesting stories. I don't like the level locking to an area first time u go in, much rather prefer they levelled with u as I did a lot of dungeon crawling anc map walking low level and there all stuck like that :-(. Will remember not to next playthru to lock em higher!

Yeah, because I find myself compelled to do all the quests I come across, I'm only just about to head into the third 'main' area for the first time after something like 60 hours. And most of the side quests are very samey indeed. They should've had less of those really, and more of the quality of the faction questlines.
I do wonder if I'll go back to it if I'm not done with it before ME3 turns up.
