This is regarding the 360 version. I had forgotten how good this game was on the DC. It makes a change from the normal danmaku stuff on the 360. The hit box is huge compared to Cave's games and it takes a little time to adjust. I haven't tried the dual stick mode yet but have found the controls to be very good although I do find that movement is best set to reverse.
In terms of presentation there isn't much to talk about it is pretty basic with a simple static screen intro and the usual options for adjusting the screen size, wallpaper and audio. The game does still look marvellous with loads of little details that look even sharper than ever in HD.
The big new addition is the New Order mode which is a remixed version of the game in full 16:9 screen filling glory. And I'm not too sure about it. It seems like a zoomed in version of the arcade game with everything including your copter looking pretty large onscreen. Having more horizontal space makes it feel like you can turn further and subsequently shoot at tighter angles. The depth at which you can fly into the screen feels different as well. It seems like your vehicle and enemy craft are further into the distance than they ought to be. But enemy bullets don't seem to be affected by this quite as much.
I think I'll stick with the arcade mode for the time being.
