I think its well worth a tenner even if its so short, love the visuals and style. Beautiful game. Personally if games are as visually grand as this and unique, i'd rather have that than length.

This is coming from someone who didn't like Flower.

Well i've just finished this tonight and im absolutely gob smacked, was just a fantastic game, i go so far as saying if you dont enjoy this game, you dont enjoy gaming, and if you dont enjoy this game, you have no SOUL.

While I'm not actually of this opinion, some people dont even really consider this a game, so its a bit harsh to say if they dont like this they dont like gaming.

Also, to be fair, my idea of what gaming is about is a challenge, which this completely lacks, which is probabaly why when taking taking it as a game I wasnt exactly in love with it.

As a relativley unique expereince its pretty good, but it is still lacking, there is alack of variety to what you actually do in it, its not as grand as it probabaly should be, and its basically just a disney land ride set in the desert.

Even ignoring its short playtime its far from perfect.

having said all that I am probabaly being a bit harsh myselkf as it deffinitley worth experiencing, it was a fun diversion and I played it all the way through in one stting even though i didnt actually intend too, so it clearly had my interest.

As Flow most eloquently puts it, its a simple game, with jaw dropping atmosphere...... Life Could Be Simple.

I dont really like the idea that is going around, which is that their games arent actually games. Youre controlling them so for me they are games. In Journey your guy would be standing still unless you moved him, so youre clearly playing the game.

Having said that some people are bound to want more than a simple game, in the same way that (going back to the film comparison) some people want to watch Tinker tailor Solider Spy more than they want to watch Scream 4. Some people just want more be it plot or gameplay.

I like alot about what they did with this, but has it got as much about it as somthing like Mass Effect 3?, for me I would have to say hell no, not even close.

Personally speaking, I don't like the idea that, just because a product has controller interaction, it has to be categorised as a game.

If I had an RC car it'd just be sat there stationary until I pushed the accelerator stick forward. This doesn't make it a game - however, I could add rules to what the car should do (adhere to a defined track, avoid the cat, do a circuit of the room within 30 seconds) that would turn my interaction with the car into a game.

Just because the user has control of something doesn't automatically make it a game. It's a narrow-minded perception of what the medium of interactive entertainment should be and, unless products come along to keep attempting to push these confined boundaries outwards then we'll forever be trapped in a narrow avenue of identikit experiences.

Well if you actually consider the definition of the word "game" then it's quite broard. It can basically mean somtthing that you play with. Also I always thought RC cars were considered a game.

I understand why you dont want to consider this as a game, becuase you want it to be seen as more than that. But for me it played like a simple platformers, so I feel it is a game without question.

I personally feel its worth the price tag, I would have happily paid more than a tenner if need be. My opinion is that Journey was simply breathtaking to play, I am still in awe from the first play through. An absolutely fantastic game, best I have played in a very long time.
The studio has done a magnificent job, so much talent has come from one studio, hats off to them. I didnt feel that the game was 'short', nor did I feel robbed after the credits. I highly recommend this, and then some.
Its very rare for me to get a strong feeling of emotion when playing games these days, its hard to explain what exactly that feeling is, but this game gave me that, I hope more games come along that will do this for me.

Well Dan it has all those wonderful features and this is where Chen knows snd see's ehat make a game, is connection, and that is done i think through our emotions, and journey definitely plays to your emotions, as i said before to excitement and wonder and loneliness and sorrow then dread and loss and adversity, and even just the basic of humanity, when you meet a fellow traveller, and then you overcome this and have a second chance to accomplish this, these to me are very deep human characteristics and this is how this game works and is worth 10 pounds any day of the week. People that are complaining should try and look at the work that has taken to make this fantastic game. 10/10 PSN GOTY 2012.

For those who've played it - is this the sort of game where you can take your time, and keep returning for multiple short sessions (like Flower)?
Or should it be played through in a single sitting, due to the co-op aspects?

I'm really excited to play, but I want to make sure I experience the game in the right way.

You'll want to push on straight away, as it leads you on and your imagination wonders whats next, but you can go exploring if you want to. I'd just jump in and let it take you where you want to go.

I played it through in one go on sunday after getting PS+...enjoyed it alot. Not quite upto the chin stroking art wankery levels of some but it was a very nice 2 hours.

One thing really ruined it for me though oddly.

I spent the whole time dancing, 'singing' and flouncing around with my fellow traveller, even felt like we had forged a bond despite not knowing anything about each other. Showing each other glowies we had found etc.

Then at the end it told me I had not been with one person...but seven different people.

Don't know why but that really spoilt it for me, might aswell have been an AI.

They should show those directions on the startup screen
