Played this through yesterday (after avoiding it for ages, basically because it sounded a bit too fey and worthy to be true) and within moments I was utterly entranced. Magical game, and quite

harrowing to find yourself robbed of your voice and flight as you make the final climb towards the inevitable. The scene that sees you sliding through the caverns as the light reflects off the sand was just gorgeous. I couldn't believe my eyes.

. The controls are marvellous too - don't think they've had the credit they deserve. Had three online partners, it turns out, and got friended by one. Rushed through it a bit as I wanted to be a productive coop partner (old habits!), but next time I'm going to wander off a bit more and explore. Haven't enjoyed online coop so much since playing through Portal 2 with Number 45 last year with gestures only. I see why they anonymized coop play, as you don't want someone pinging you grief and messages to hurry up when you're taking in the scenery and poking around. That said, I think it would have been good to allow you to invite a friend after you and he/she have completed the game once - as an 'unlock' - as that would surely create some terrific gaming memories.

Playing the Journey demo on PSN, why the HELL can't I disable the sixaxis camera? Unless I hold the pad level it swirls around uncontrollably! Jesus Christ, this is ****ing ****! Worst controls I've seen this generation.

I tend to lie back on my couch, feet resting on an overturned laundry bucket, turned over to one side slightly, amidst some pillows, maybe my one leg hanging over the arm rest, like some kind of Persian Sultan. I'm a skinny guy, but I like to lounge. So my pad is always held at a bizarre angle. For a while I couldn't figure out why I was fighting with the camera 100% of the time, then it clicked - these idiots have FORCED YOU to use sixaxis camera control, in addition to the right stick. This is stupid. And I checked, but you can't disable it.

They did the same thing with Flower, and I enjoyed that game, but I was forced to adopt a very uncomfortable sitting position in order to control it correctly. Now they've done it again, for a game which is basically a third-person platformer ala Mario!

No, no, no - absolute game breaker. I struggled through the first level in the demo, and there's no way I can actually play through the whole of this **** sitting like this. **** this, man. Deleted with extreme prejudice.

I found this annoying too. Even though I maintain correct posture coz I'm an old bastard with a dicky back, the slightest sixaxis adjustment off the perfect horizontal would send the camera swooping around like a pissed seagull.

You want to get that schizophrenia seen to, it's like there's two people inside you.

                Unless pissed seagulls are marvellous.

Didn't notice the issue myself, isn't moaning about this and completely writing off a brilliant game a tad shortsighted, kinect makes you stand to play and a lot of great wii games force you to adopt a certain position to play. I wouldn't mark them down because of this though

Curse you and your reading of...stuff! Anyway, the controls are marvellous. Camera controls am not marvellous. Didn't spoilt the game in any way for me. And at least the views were nice when the camera decided to go wandering off. But the Sixaxis was such a half-arsed crock from the beginning Sony should just issue a firmware patch that disables all motion recognition in the console.

Yes indeed! Recently borrowed a 360, and one thing I really like is how there's absolutely no motion controls in the controller. It's just a bog standard interface device. Wonderful.

I refuse to ever adopt Kinect - I absolutely do not want that nonsense. Steel Battalion shows it does not work. Perhaps a reviewer shouldn't mark them down for being what they are (a game that requires standing), unless they inherently can't be controlled correctly. But as a consumer I will base my purchase on the control scheme.

Motion controls and jumping around do not interest me. Flower was OK (probably the best in this style). At every opportunity I switched to the GC or Classic Controller for the Wii. In the end I gave it away it because the controls for so many games just bugged me.

The sad thing is, this game doesn't require motion controls. The right stick controls the camera anyway, so Sixaxis control should be optional. As it stands, it forces me either to change my sitting posture, or not play it. For a totally arbitrary reason like unnecessary controls!

Em, somewhat late but I just played through this. Wow, beautiful. The 'going for a walk' sim has really come on as a genre and this is one of the best examples. A gorgeous experience. And had no idea I was playing online until I started catching glimpses of others and then it told me at the end that I had played with six people. Visuals and music were just superb and I adore how this just broke storytelling down to its absolute basic elements - just a goal and a trial to reach it, nothing more. Brilliant.

Its the best game this year by a country mile, but most of you wont play it and will probably vote FIFA GOTY or Far Cry 3, its gaming simplicity and everything just works on so many levels, the no voice chat, which makes you feel isolated, then you find a companion and use the sound pings to help and locate each other, the art work, the music , the level design its all genius. It must be GOTY or subscription cancelled ( only joking ) ( bet some where rejoicing LOL ).

I just played this yesterday and it was like a book I could not put down. Each section brought something new if only small. I think the vision for this is what made it and somehow whoever envisaged it has managed to take it from their mind to the screen extremely well.

I can only hope for the day they make a fully fledged game of this with different settings as I would really like to see a green environment like they did with Flower. Truly shows that games can be art and really give a different edge on playing games, think it is the most relaxed I have felt playing a game...ever.

Bought a PS3 today, bought Journey. Went to play Journey.

Sixaxis broken so camera rotates constantly

Thought I'd go play LBP, which I had downloaded again from the store.

Won't install. The forums say I have to redownload via account management. AAAAH
