I feel it's probably one of the weaker Clover/Platinum games so far, its not based but I can see why Sega dropped the price. I think there could have been more to do in the campaign mode its very repetitive trying to get points feels almost a chore. I think there needed to be more to uncover secrets wise or more characters to play the story with. As I said in the other thread I feel this is almost a Vs beat em up online rather than a solo experience which isn't really what I wanted.

I love the environments and re-introduction of characters and the new characters though just wish there was more to do. Maybe some indoor arenas - drunken bar brawl would have been cool and hidden arcade games as Easter eggs.

The lower scores it gets from IGN and the like are rightfully so. Platinum has a lot of credit, if this game was being developed by another developer this would be completely destroyed. I bought it solely because its a Platinum game as well, but I wouldn't have bought it if it was full price.

I've completely beaten the SP, and its horse ****. Most enemies are filler and retarded, and you sometimes need to grind stupid Free missions to get to the next Mission which is just a cheap way to extend the game. The online mode has potential but its borderline unplayable. Players are warping around due to lag, framerate is unstable... the netcode is completely ass. Sometimes you'll hit, other times you just don't. This is absolutely game breaking considering the online is the meat of this game. Even with a good netcode the fighting engine would've still been broken, there are lots of easy infinites and you can abuse the 360 attack with a perk that doesn't let you consume HP.

This is just a bad game, but it gets more credit than it deserves due to the guys behind it. Once MG:R hits, I know I completely forget about this one.

I'm on the verge of selling this after a day-did the first mission and it's a bit pants- with none of the great mechanics you'd expect from a clover/platinum game.

If you tried to redeem it on Thursday, that would be your problem as the game wasn't officially out then and PSN and XBLA content is often time locked for release or not even uploaded to the server. I had that problem with the Gran Turismo 5 Academy Edition were Sony screwed up with the date of one of the downloads.

Redeeming it early can cause problems, so always wait till street date before redeeming a code. I redeemed my Bayonetta and mission codes this morning on 360 without problem.

The dogfight mode is quite amusing, haven't tried the multiplayer online, but I have played it offline and it reminds me of Power Stone & Spawn In the Demon hand. Used the simulator if you want to play multiplayer offline, this would be a good party game if it had co-op play.

Yeah the Code worked yesterday eve and Mad Survival with 3 players is kind of fun, but likely not for long.

Power Stone and Spawn were both far better games, they were 60fps and Spawn even had 4 player split screen. AR doesn't have any form of local multiplayer or co-op campaign, which is also a huge let down.

The camera in this is absolutely awful, it's a pain to play.

It's meant to be a grower this. Stick with it. Every other forum I frequent is going mental about it, yet here it's all doom and gloom - as always.

I don't have it yet because where I live is being a dick at the minute.

I suppose if you like dynasty warriors you'll like this, but I'm not feeling it yet. Seems quite basic so far but only after playing the sp.

People are relating it to either Mad World or God Hand, and Power Stone for the multi player.

I've really been enjoying this since I picked it up yesterday. Up to the 4th stage on the Black Side in the campaign. The more I play the more it makes me smile. Just had a quick go of the survival mode using Bayonetta. Splendid stuff.

I can see that not everyone would get into it but it's doing it for me.

I'd recommend Warriors Orochi over this if a DW game is what one would want out of this. The SP of AR is a poor man's beat em up (without 2 player mode at all). Thats not the problem as the meat is multiplayer... but the Netcode is dog ****!

AR is also not as deep and genuinely funny as God Hand, and not as polished as Power Stone. Mad World was a bit of a mediocre game I thought, but it had a distinctive style at least.

Yeah I have to say the multiplayer networking is really really awful, like with most fighting games it relies on reactions and everything is fast paced motion and the networking just can't keep up. I sort of found some of the missions on the white side a bit more fun as it wasn't just beat up a group of enemies or a mini boss. There was some fun little quests like flying about on the chopper or taking a suitcase around to specific locations.

Still I am glad to see I am not the only one thinking this ain't their best work. Roll on Revengance I guess.

My in-depth review after a couple of hours:
Better than MadWorld, not as good as Bayonetta.

Need to put more time into it but it has been excellent fun to play so far. Not expecting Bayonetta levels of depth in the combat but it does seem there is a lot more strategy involved than initial observations imply. Only had a few games on multiplayer but it was incredibly enjoyable with all sorts of crazy **** happening like satellites firing at the stage and planes crashing. All considered initial impressions are positive but I do need to dig deeper.

Hard mode are where these games are at. Normal mode is for learning the buttons.

Have you not tried Bayonetta on hard yet? It's actually easier than normal, but feels faster with a solid tempo. I'm trying to PP each section before I move on to the next. Time consuming, yet enjoyable.

As for this, it looks like I'll be on MGR:R before I get my hands on this. It's been seized by the Singapore equivalent to the BBFC.
