The "Denpa" Men: They Came by Wave ( 3DS eShop ) review

So this is a dungeon crawler. The game starts by you catching the so called denpa by using to 3DS's camera ( same as invisimals ). So the denpa live around your wifi connection and different connection have different denpa. The denpa have different colours usually associated with their skills, think pokemon and other rock/paper/scissors games and you get the idea. So you start off catching your fist denpa and he's your leader. You can try the demo on the eShop and when you finish it, you can save your team and it gets transferred over to the main game, very handy. So its kinda etrian odyssey which you go through all the floors, but no maping yourself, its done automatic on the lower screen, and try and make it out to the end, where you always meet a boss blocking the exit. The denpa themselves have loads of personality, and if one dies after you leave the dungeon, you have or can buy him back at the shrine. The graphics are bright and colourful and the enemies are varied and colourful and exciting too. The battle is good and theres a few options, you can choose you own actions, or a press of Y does automatic actions for everybody, if you low on magic, you can press X and your team will only attack wity no heals or magic, you can also try and run from a battle. Battle are real time and you can see enemies al la FF12, so you can attack or avoid, though enemies will chase you. ou can suspend you game anywhere, this is awesome as you can do short bursts ie on the bus, and not miss your stop. The game is meant to be 15 to 20 hours long. There is also a QR thing where you can get new denpa. There's already meant to be and expanded sequel in japan. So try the game and demo and buy it 7.19 its awesome.

Just bought this and absolutely love it. Old school turn based rpg with a some what modern twist for recruitment (use of 3ds camera).

Might want to bare in mind that the sequel is out on 30 may but its only 5 bucks ATM.

Im glad somebody else is enjoying it, i'd go as far as to say its an undiscovered classic and total sleeper hit that hardly anybody will play.
